You should recompile the recovery as well from Christian's sources, so that the key layout for your tablet is fully supported.

the keys are working perfectly without need to modified and the backup nand works

I can see how to do it (I compiled CM and lots of programs that way), but at the moment I don't have a computer very able to compile anything (a certain oomph is needed to compile stuff, and all I have at the moment is a netbook).

If I remember correctly Christian presents his sources in a git tree, so you should clone Christian's tree, modify the values for the keys according to the key test which you can perform in CWM itself or via keytest.apk, merge those changes and try if you've done it properly. If it works, you could ask him to let you contribute that change to a branch.

You'll need to run Linux for that (I use Ubuntu), and you should install git and the build-essential tools if they're not included in the distribution you choose.

You need the rk batch tool to flash the stock firmware. The cwm recovery is a tool that exchange the original recovery with this custom recovery giving you more flexibilitie to fix your tablet without the use of a pc or even install custom roms made for this tab.

512 MB will barely run Ubuntu, let alone compile anything. You should dual boot unless you have a monster. You just need to make room for an ext4 and another swap partition with gparted in the live CD, and then run a custom install on that partition.

how do you did this? any steps?

no need to root for instal lt just extract the archive power off you pipo u1 and press and hold the volume + button and plug the usb cable to the pc without releasing the button and windows should aski you for rk30 device driver you can findl it inside my archive and open the tool and flash it it will.reboot to cwm do a nand backup. remember the table doesnt have yet a custom rom to be use on the cwm so just recovy will work to nand backup or.to format user data cache.

@darkrickpr

Thank you very much. Once i extracted the cwm recovery you posted, do i need to check any options in the tool or i just need to press the flash button?

what are the things might happen while doing this? is this irreversable in case something happened? like it doesnt boot up at all?

do reason i need to do this is i need to change the boot logo of pipo u1 and in any case something happened i can easily restore it back using cwm recovery.

#25 ·
not you dont have to check any other option just flash.you can always return back to original but with the cwm you need to do a nand backup first thing thats will then restore your pipo u1 if somthing get bad.

Yess if somwethine goes wrong and the tablet doesnt load the os you can alway restore it via rk batchtool and with the official firmware you can find.it in the other post pipo u1
