If that doesn't work you could try this...

I have a Yaundao / Window N90 Dual Core clone from Lingyumoc. It's a great tablet for the price.

I'm holding out for a Beta of Jelly Bean

but so far I have trialed 3 firmware versions including the original from the factory.

The first 2 versions rooted with moborobo and the modded SuperOneClick just fine. Trying the latest version [4.04-20120724] from yaundoa.com has improved my wifi range and the tablet seems to have better performance.... but I have the same problem problem rooting this version. It freezes at step 7 of the process.

Has anyone attempted any other rooting method.... Maybe Doomlords Easy Root Toolkit? CWM is still a no go.
Let's pool some knowledge here people.

There is a custom ROM for N 90 clones pre rooted with CWM recovery :

http://www.flashmyandroid.com/forum/showthread.php?1707-ROM-RK3066-Custom-Firmware-Orgos-V1-0-Android-4-04-20120814

It may be interesting for you

Furthermore, you have to check if copying the new firmware in the SD card is sufficient to flash it :

Try this from http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/3656...-28-july-2012/:

This is interesting no need to run any other software to update.

This cut from the http://vondroid.com/....php?f=46&t=389

So technically we should be able to run updates straight from the SD card which saves having to use the rock tools. I haven't tested this out BUT if someone wants to then try it out.

1) Copy update.img to root of SD
2) Mount SD
3) Unmount
4) Mount
5) Wait and see if the message appears.

It really work. i just update today from sd.

This is pretty typical of RK tablets! In fact that is what update.img is really for. It will update boot, kernel, system without erasing user data when update.img is put onSDcard. Sorry nothing new here

Hi,
I got a question, if I want to remove a system app that start with the lockscreen which I cant uninstall, do I need to root the tablet to get ride of it.
Or is it better to try to adjust the new update file and try to remove the app from there before I load it into my tablet?

I'm rather new to this so I'm still learning how the tablet works.

At the moment I haven't been able to root it, but I've managed to open a img which contains a couple more img like kernel, boot and system.img.
The system img works fine to mount in linux and I can see the app that I want to remove, but I haven't tried any further.

Is there anyone else who has Ifive mini and have rooted it?
