Changelog

enotar v2 +
  • Rooted of course.....
  • Change density before flashing in 2nd line default.prop (very easy).
  • new superuser and su beta 3.0 (works excelent) + if you buy elite you have extra stuff. I love it........
  • new chainfire 3D english.
  • speed card access
  • sdcard and extsd still swaped as v2.0 but will look at symlink (I will release a version tomorow with no swaping for those who like that but if you use link2sd I think it will not work)
  • New flashplayer and maps in folder /sdcard/flashplayer+maps
  • I decide to opt for physical solution for volume button so ; no remap for now but will continue searching.

change, tell me what youd like to see in 2.2.

    Swaped sdcard and extsd version:
    http://www.multiupload.com/EL8DQ90RIX
Unswaped sdcard and extsd version: http://www.multiupload.com/6Q7D9WTXJ7

Upcoming 2.2

  • Base on 624 new firmware with rotation fixed 360 and others
  • resolve the swap of sdcard and exsd
  • Delete low battery warning popup (testing )
  • some honeycomb stuff.........
    Image
or clone with different launcher, maybe Honeycomb or VTL(Honeycomb launcher is nice but that would be an extra experimental launcher for those who like to use it).
  • I'd like to have a push and hold "back" and "menu" for volume but that need a lot of extra knolwledge(anyone has an idea of how to implement push and hold), dont find anything.
  • 360 rotate, not sure about this one but give it a try
  • opera maybe or firefox
    Image
    i like opera
  • ram optimization
  • etc......

enotar v2

  • base 607 with all BT, GPS, VPN settings.
  • wifi works great better reception and fast to connect.
  • fast..........................................................................
  • english.
  • location NY
  • remove chinese stuff and crap and add root explorer and contact.apk.
  • rooted (wait a little or reboot and you'll see the superuser dialog the first time for root explorer or for titanium backup;this last one is not installed, download from market; a little long the first time to gain root access but it will).
  • new su 2.3.6.1 and new 1.19 busybox.
  • chainfire 3d.
  • automatic partitions for 4, 8, 16gb with new larger space for applications, you dont need to decide which one.
  • appwidgetpicker installed.
  • density 200 but can be change in /sytem/build.prop after flashing and getting root access.
  • swapfile installed (256mb) but doesnt seams to work (looks kernel dont allow swapon).
  • swaped sdcard with extsd now sdcard is external and extsd internal.
  • batt.apk installed but the battery indicator works apparently. I decide to keep batt.apk as I begin to like it.
  • Heapsize set to 48 instead of 32.
  • Rotation works 240° not 360°.
  • Flash player is not installed (use the one in Flash Player dir).
  • UTPlayer installed but maybe I remove it next version, I like MPlayer.
  • HDMI doesnt work for me (pixelized screen) but it never work before with gingerbread so I think this is my TV
  • Folder APK autoinstaller

surely some redundancy with MOD and internal Rom and need some cleaning but works perfect.
Thank you to keijames (albertdsh MOD) to lead the way with chainfire 3d and other mod stuff, partitions and rooting on 531, I tried to adapt as much as possible on this 607.

As always just unpack the zip file and place as is to root of external SD Card.
Before flashing use folder APK to put all soft you need to be installed and you'll see these appear installed after flashing, great isnt it........

I'm currently trying to connect to my pc ad-hoc, so I needed root access and I was trying different roms. I've been using enotar v2 for 1 hour or so. I dont know why but this rom gave me the best root access even if I couldn't connect to my ad-hoc yet.. working fast and smooth. thanks for the good work.

Enotar i love this mod =)
i installed it jesterday, had some problems with WiFi at first (but that seems to be my router)
Ran into trouble when i was not able to eject the external SD card, that is one mod i could do without '^^
besides that it is a fantastic release!
Thank you for colecting all the patches and mods and making them work.

Thank you all

Loonix,
easy to go back to to the original sdcard and extsd, modifying /system/etc/vold.fstab with rootexplorer and rebooting.

It should be a better way to mount these cards at boot.............

Pretty similar I think, I like the way the updater decide for 4, 8, 16gb + this one is rooted out of the box, you get chainfire 3d for smoother games and external sdcard is sdcar not extsd + new busybox 1.19.
I tried Fragcompany of course and it was very good but you can try this one if you can find some speed differences.......

Trying to add a density changer to make this easier.
Swap is a dead end for now as kernel should be tweaked but I'll check more on this.
I am checking too the NTFS support and still not sure the tablet has it implemented, if not; let see what can be done.
HDMI is a more complex problem but will take a look

If few of these can be done before next firware release from Haipad or else that would be great.

Please add here your request and I see if that can be implemented.

Thanks for the support

Oopsss: problem trying to use the new superuser 2.3.6.2 and new su binary 2.3.1-ef, need to sort this out now for next version
Yeap new SU binary 2.3.1-ef is trouble; waiting for update to 2.3.1-eg

thx enotar.
i'm not much of a gamer, and busybox doesn't even ring a bell, so i think i'm not the person that would be your best tester

keep up the good work anyway.
it's so nice to see so many versions for this cheap tablet!

Great ROM dude, the wifi speed is noticably better than my the Haipad 531 ROM. Took me 2 minutes to download my morning newspaper with your ROM, whereas it was taking 20 mins before! That test meant taking down 930 files at about 40MB in total. The old ROM just couldn't cope with the file count.

Thanks for sharing your work.

please help!!!!!

I've flashed my m7++ with this firmware and, after flashing, it is almost unusable. The tablet starts up normally, but when the boot is finished a message tells me that the tablet has very low memory and almost every process "suddenly stops" and ask me to "force close" lots of process (market, google, bluetooth etc..). Maybe something went wrong with the MBR during flashing. I've tried some other firmware to flash but when the flash is finished always the same errors.
Can someone try to help me? Maybe I should format the inner SDcard but how? Is there a safe way to do so without opening the tablet? It has only few days....

thank for the help you won't miss to give me!

Try to reformat external card and copy the firmware and reflash if that doesnt work.
Try to go back to froyo 2.2 and reflash gingerbread to see if it changes something.
But I really think your internal card is bad... and you will have to open the tablet and replace it.
Some people in this forum report the same behaviour with different firmware and that was a bad internal card.
It is very easy to open but you should always be carrefull and there ie some video in the forum on how to do it.

I had, many, and I switched back to the old way, it is a lot better for me I think. Yes, most people got used to put stuff on SD partition, but in this case, it's not that simple.
BUT, you can make it so it will only mount the external SD when connected to the PC and people will not put stuff on internal

enotar v2.1 is out first post

Mod please change thread title

BTW: Just install a new internal SDcard Sandisk 16gb class 4 "Mobile Ultra"..........Boot and speed are incredible, trust me, this is a new tablet!

See and tested today the ACER tegra 2, woawwwwwwwwwww; I want one nowwwwwwwwwww

I think the idea of having sdcard link to the external sd for certain folders is genius. I was always getting bored of moving apps to sd and mnay of my most storage intensive apps do this by default with the enotar ROM. Top job!

Hi Enotar!

I like your firmware.
But I have a problem. My tablet is with 8GB. After the install my Internal storage is 3,8GB and SD Card is just 2,7GB.
Please help me!
Where can I overwrite in the firmware if I want maximum 1GB Internal storage and more SD Card size?

Thanks

Fine piece of work again enotar.

I must add my feedback on the battery heat though with this release. It's a far longer sustained temperature coming from the battery for sure. I just spent an hour in my local (in the UK that's the nearest pub, public bar, bar) having a beer and reading a book on my tab and the heat from the battery on the previous ROM never came through enough to notice but this one it's very noticable. I'll try a cailbration but I can't see how that could make a difference.

Funtionality is great though and your mods definately make downloading files faster than any other ROM I've tried.

Beer donation on it's way

Hey enotar,

First and foremost, thanks for the development! There aren't a lot of people creating new and interesting ROMs for this tablet, and I really appreciate someone trying to create a new and interesting take on the OS.

Unfortunately, the latest one has put me in a bit of a pickle. It didn't flash successfully, giving me the error that the zImage was incorrect. It's entirely possible I made a mistake copying it over to the microSD, no big deal. However, it managed to write enough that it no longer looks to the microSD for the new update, but the internal instead. As a result, I'm caught in a loop of it constantly checking the internal card for a new update (which I can't access in my current state). I'm a little frustrated but in no way blaming your build for this. Any suggestions? I'd love to get my tablet back.
