Yes, I am a noobie at tablets, this U20GT is my first....

I am learning about changing my ROM version for something more customized and with less Chinese bloat. I have tooted the U20GT and was ready to install CWM when I found a App called ROM Manager v5.0.2.1 by ClockworkMod. Is this the same thing?

I have not played at all with it as I am looking for a tutorial....

There are other apps like BussyBox, Online Nandroid Backup, should I use them or delete them?

I have seemed to have really done it with my TD-1010 RK3066 attempting to use this method, I had root working prior to attempting to install CWM,

I have tried without success to flash a multitude of recovery firmware's to it with no success I just have a white screen, I am able to flash with RKbatch tool and RKandroid tool.

I know theres just something im not doing right, related to the boot and kernel.

I am not being able to create a new topic however ...

let us see, how this gets an attention from might devs~

I am stuck here with :

HeroTab Hybrid Urban 2: http://theherotab.com/hybrid-urban-2/

which is seemingly one single piece sold only to me, because I can't find anybody else who has built a custom recovery/added a better firmware/kernel or ROM.

I am having too much problems for the tab to install adb/fastboot drivers in the first place too ...

I am not sure, but anyhelp would be highly appreciated and will deserve a cookie/bear

sorry that as my first comment on this forum, i post this question here.
i have looked for suitable response in many forums , but i could not find anything useful. I have a Chinese tablet in which RK3066 chip-set is used within. i came across some problems while customizing its frame-ware, so i think i should seek for your dear expert help.
the procedure was in this way that I used "Wendal Tool program" to unpack my frameware , so that 5 files extracted from that file:
1- Boot.img
2-Kernel.img
3-misc.img
4- recovery.img
5- system.img

for making sure that the procedure is going in the right path, again i packed above mentioned files with "Wendal Tool program" and as a result "Update.img" appeared, then I flashed this file by "RK tool" in tablet and everything went ok.

my question is here that how should I customize "System.img" in a way that after customization , the output file format to be ".img" not ".zip" ?
(I customized "system.img" by "Dxa kitchen" but my output file was ".zip" extention")

kindly provide me with your solution in a most understandable way . thank you in advance.

Hi to all,
I have a Teclast P85HD, I tried to install CWM recovery as descripted in this thread. All seems to go ok and when tablet reboots it goes in CWM recovery but I can't do anything and I have this message

E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

I can't do backup, I can't clear cache/dalvik etc. I had to reinstall stock recovery.
How can I do to solve this and install CWM?
Thank you very much
Enrico

Hi!!
I need some help with my pipo m1 that i think i just bricked!

I was trying to install Clockworkmod Recovey from the link:
http://www.flashmyandroid.com/forum/content.php?56-Pipo-max-m1-Clockworkmod

Everything went fine with windows and RKAndroidTool,
but then when it rebooted it got stock always in CWM-Based Recovery with the errors:

CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

It is always in this loop!!!
I have already tried to install from the SD Pipo Beans V1 http://www.flashmyandroid.com/forum/content.php?58-Pipo-Max-M1-ROM-Pipo-Beans-v1) It says installed OK, but when i restart i always stuck CWM Recovey!

Even more strange know when i connect it to windows it scan's for a N70 DRIVER!!!
Now i don't have access from RKAndroidTool!!!

Please HELP!!!! Is this bricked???

make sure your drivers are correct

K if you want to install cwm you need to

download it
take the included parameter file, kernel, misc, and boot files out and replace them with yours or it will not work.
Its supposed to reboot into recovery after flashing one time but if it fails go back into the flasher and replace the recovery.img with your owns.

If you have problems using it then you have to go into linux and extract the firmware by stipping the first 8 bytes off the img with dd then extract with gzip.

Balazio,
the same happened to me!
after flashing CWM I had the same errors and every time I rebooted always went to CMW.
So I had to flash the stock recovery that I previously unpacked using "Wendal Tool program".
I used RKAndroidTool to flash stock recovery.img.
Then the device rebooted normally.
