Hello fred1438,

What are your problems with flashing ? I haven't flashed yet, but it should be easy. Did you read the instructions on www.zenithink.com? I think you have to unrar the downloaded ROM.

Have you tried the ROM I posted?

I'm not sure you were using the correct ROM files, what were the filenames of the RAR files you downloaded and tried? For the Z101, it should begin with something like ZT280_G0_2n_....

... sticker says zt280102asrta0927s6f so not sure what to think now??
This could be a wrong sticker, i've seen this in a Youtube-Video for a Z101, had also a sticker with zt280102...

You can identify your tablet as a ZT280-Z101 by the case. It has the same case like the ZT180-Models. When you need a adapter for the ethernet-port than you have an Z101. The Z102 looks like the Flytouch-Models. They have a RJ45 plug. The Z102 has a stylus. Check the pictures at Zenithink.com

Hmmm, you are sure you have a Z101 right? It looks like ZT-180 and not a Flytouch?

All the ZT-280 Froyo ROMs have the 20110905 Build and the Gingerbread ROMs have the 20110924 Build......

The date on the barcode tells which version the factory installed on it, so for you it had the 0927 Froyo ROM when it left the factory....

so do use Gingerbread ROMs have the 20110924 Build for an update?
I'm not sure what you are asking.......

From what I've seen, if a ZT-280 has the 20110905 Build in Settings/About Device, it means it's a Froyo ROM, and if it says 20110924 it's a Gingerbread ROM. Even though the ROMs have been updated, they always show the same 20110905 or 20110924 Build....For example, for the the C91 tablet, the 0905, 0907, and 1018 Froyo ROMs all say 20110905 in the Build, and the 0930, 1007, 1011, 1018, 1020, 1110, and 1116 ROMs say 20110924......

Perhaps deLemere or v9ryu can help you, as I don't own a Z101, but the process should be similar to the other ZT-280 tablets. I only know of the 1024 Gingerbread ROM for the Z101. Pretty much download the RAR file, decompress it, place all the files on your sdcard in a folder named zt-update (files should be all the ones in the RAR file: batt_charge.logo, batt_low.logo, boot.logo, boot_update.logo, command, data.zt280.tar.bz, media (folder), media.zt280.tar.bz, system.patch.zt280.tar.bz, system.zt280.tar.bz, ZT280.boot, ZT280.kernel, ZT280.recovery, ZT280.rom, ZT280.spl, and also the licence1.ef file), the SDcard should be formatted FAT32 and not have any partitions on it while flashing with it. So after you have the sdcard ready, put it in your tablet, make sure your tablet is fully charged and plugged into the charger, turn it on and when you see the Zepad logo, press the left toggle/volume button to initiate the flashing procedure, press the round button in front to accept to flash the spl and boot files, and then the rest should be automatic.....

It may be slightly different for the Z101, so wait till someone who has successfully flashed it to post their instructions how to flash the tablet or confirm what I posted.....

If you do have a Z101, you should be using the files in the ZT280_G0_2n_Z101_Android2.3_1024_GO_V1.21.rar file. Have you tried to decompress the RAR file with another program? Not sure which one you are using, but the software may have corrupted the files. Try and use 7zip or WinRAR and try again.....
