WTF - New firmware gone and now a PC updater is listed on Pandigital's website

no big deal guys. the downloader worked for me. it downloaded the update image to the internal sd card, which I promptly saved off to my pc. it is updating now...

clockworx,yep. installed no prob. I'm setting up the wifi now.

I think it just looks for a drive named "PD_Novel" and dumps the image on it. super hi-tech.

did you follow the directions?you need to power off (not put to sleep) the novel. after it shuts off, you need to hold the volume up ey and turn it on. release both keys when you see the updater graphic.this is pretty well documented here and by pd.
