Built-in repositoryNot too important stuff, but it would be nice if there was a built-in repository user could choose apps from immediately after installation, while pretty much no programs other than those absolutely necessary would come pre-installed. Could be accompanied by a list of apps recommended for installation by FW authors.
The repository I have in mind would be offline one, with preloaded, but not preinstalled APKs available. So that one could reflash the device and set it up to his likings without having to connect to the internet. If I may ask so bluntly, what is Slatedroid Market going to offer that other market apps (Android Market, APKtor and such) cannot?
It might be impossible but if a way to underclock the processor(or something) and put the machine into something like suspend mode without using much battery life.Maybe turn off wi fi/turn off screen/underclock until woken up *with a single buton press

Only the convenience of having a single point to refer to in the forums. Instead of telling people to get from the android market (many can't) of this one is on slideme that one is at brothersoft and this is the xyz repo so get apktor, we can say its in the slatedroid market app.If you think it's worth added to a Rom package why not install it. If you think someone won't want it installed why have it included in a d/l?
I second more features for Market. Whether it be SlateDroid Market or the regular Market. Automatically add repositories would be nice too. I would also like to see a partition, either for internal storage or for SD card, which would "back up" all of the downloaded/installed apps/games/etc downloaded from the Market(s). I think it would be easier for people that often flash FW's, so they could flash and restore the Eken to where it was prior to the new flash. Hell, take it one step farther and create an entire backup partition with just system settings, market downloads, etc and possibly an app to just one-click restore to make it easier on the flashing and being back up and running. Just a thought...
For backup the esfilemanager does this see Backup apps - WikiIt's not a one click restore, but it is all your apps in one folder you can reinstall from.
First, I would like to thank all the ROM developers, which by all means develop the firmwares which make the M001 actually usable.Secondly, I would like to strongly encourage them to tailor their ROMs to not overwrite the bootloader each time we flash ! As far as I understand its not necessary to change the bootloader at all, and its always a risk to brick the device.I remember a posting from someone who changed the scriptcmd file in a a way, which makes the unit flash a new ROM without touching the bootloader. I would embrace this for all ROMs, so I could try the out all without risking my dear M001 every time.Again, thanks to all ROM developers, I appreciate your work, keep it up, please !!!(And give me your paypal adresses, so i can make donations if iI use your ROMs)greetz, PADMAN
Hello Padmanthank you for your compliments, the ROM is destined to become better in the future. If you want to pay me a small beer (Ricard in France) lol:mikelkeal31@hotmail.fr
Hi lefeudedieu, thanks for the info....I only made a small donation, because I dont use your ROMs so far. On the other hand, if a thousand users payed a few bucks each, your hobby of ROM cooking would be paying off nicely....greetz, PADMAN
There are still 2 problems in all the ROMs based on 1.9.1There is "Hiss" from Audio portHD videos can not be played flawlessly. Can the future upgrades address this problem allowing M001 to be decent PMP?Thanks again
Just curious, but is there a chance of Froyo ever running on this device, even in theory? I hear that it runs on the original G1, so it seems like there should be a way.
I doubt it would run well on our devices. Our hardware just isn't powerful enough to support it. I think we'll be stuck with what we have and with future ROM development, hopefully it will be increased to the point of perfect performance and efficiency. There is still the possibility of JitHack with our devices but we'll have to wait and see. Regards,rast4man

Do keep the music and video players (they work on 99% of the AVI's amd MPG4 that I have) drop the Phone and bluetooth junk BUT PLEASEKEEP the boot up dancing Andriod load screen, every one that has see it LOVES it.Two weeks ago I did see a M002 running Andriod 2.1 and it was interesting but at this point I will be happy with even this WMT2.0 cleared up version. You have done fantastic work, I am only a old radioman that is trying to keep learning all the time, and this china tablet is very cost effective for me its the discovery as to what will work that is the goal.Radioman52

I think they've got better the sensitiveness of the screen and it starts up quickly. After that, I tried to get back with Relax 2.02 and it was the worst thing I've done in my generic Eken. It stops at the first screen, even if i try to rescript it... I don't know what to do.
Good evening hugoop, you can try to re-format your SD.I just flash the Relax on the 2.0 FW and not worry.edit :
Open android_fs.tar / android_fs with 7-zip, then drag the file to your desktop userinit.sh.Change the value of 533,003 by 466,000.Then drag the userinit.sh redone in android_fs.tar / android_fs.Copy the script on the SD flash.Your processor does not support 533Mhz, I think.Normally it should work
Very strange,I wonder what "tricky" stuff was placed in the 1.90 and even in the new WNT2.0, in the factory FW AVI and MP4 (Ipod formated) works very well, no stutter but low resolution but in "Steel" a few problems using replacment software. So far minimal on geting stream audio working
[quote name='lefeudedieu;87092]Good evening hugoop' date='you can try to re-format your SD.I just flash the Relax on the 2.0 FW and not worry.edit :[/QUOTE']I confirm that on many "generic" units ( I have two versions) the Relax speed change has to be done "FIRST" before FW install."Open android_fs.tar / android_fs with 7-zip, then drag the file to your desktop userinit.sh.Change the value of 533,003 by 466,000.Then drag the userinit.sh redone in android_fs.tar / android_fs.Copy the script on the SD flash."After Relax is in you can speed things up and it will work but not on the initial FW load. This ios Very strange, my friends official Ekan M001 has no problem only some older style generics.Radioman52
