I will not be held responsible for any damage done to your device. Flashing this ROM is at your own risk. Ensure your device is plugged in throughout the flashing process to prevent damage.

Windows CE Hopelessness Edition custom ROM

Instructions: Extract (using 7-zip), the .zip file. Copy the 'script' folder to a blank SD card. Turn off your slate, and insert the SD card. Turn it on, and leave it until you are prompted to remove the SD card and press OK. Hold the power button down until the device turns off, then turn it on again, wait for the screen calibration tool and follow the onscreen instructions.

hello All, (i'm a newbee but read a lot on this and others site's and still try)
í have a salution:
1, make a usb cable for (in my case eken m001)your epad
2, download this rom http://digitalgadgets.com/netbooks/sylvania_smartbook_OS_update.zip
3, copy to a format fat32 sdcard max 1gb, put it in the epad start up, it take about 5 min. then pull out the card and restart that take about 2 min to start
you see that will work only with usb mouse or keyboard still not the touch screen. will someone take a look of the driver for the touch screen?

Hi all!
I have eken m003.
I tried to flash WinCE, but the result is - the error "Format Volume() fails", Chinese windows, no touchscreen, and I can't turn it on after shutting down.
I had the 2.0 SDK.
I tried to flash first the 1.7.4 SDK original firmware, but the result is the same. And after flashing my device with the 1.7.4 SDK I can't turn it on. The screen is black. After flashing the 2.0 SDK it works properly.
I used different SD cards 2 and 8 Gb. I formated them.
I removed some folders from Program files, as it was written somewhere in "WinCe almost working... "
In some cases I did not have this error "Format Volume() fails", but I have never seen the message "remove SD card." or something like this.
I spent 2 days trying to flash my M003 whith WinCe.
And now I don't know what to do. I whant WinCE on my device.

Please help

Hopelessness Edition v0.4 cann't work on devices with SDK 2.0 installed. We're all waiting for next version of this ROM...

"incredible"! but my device was shipped with SDK 1.7.4
Later I have upgraded it to 2.0 and now I can't downgrade to 1.7.4 and can't flash WinCE.

I'll hopefully have something for you soon, although no guarantees as to whether it'll work as it fixed 2 of the 9 it was tried on, but the other 7 still had the formatVolume() error. I might post it up Sunday for you to try!

hi Hopelessness,
are these ROMs build from BSP sources? (i.e. you got a working copy of "WINCE600\PLATFORM\<BSP sources>" ) ?
I downloaded BSP/platform here: http://tails92.sepwich.com/files/easypc/source/
but that is for VT8500, not for WM8505/VT8505..

I was able to build an OS image (NK.nb0) from that BSP.
It produced some messages in the debug serial during bootup,
but it stops from there..

Have you got a link for this?

We have a rom of window ce working on sdk 2.0 however the touch screens so not work? Any ideas would be appreciated.

i installed wince in my apad M009 (iRobot) (Blue LED) (Fake 2.2) (WMT 2.1.2), i follow the instructions in the first page but, something's different in my installation, it did not mention to remove my sd card, it didnt show up the calibration settings......and also the wifi don't work and the program pack in the os didnt install in my pad, and after i shutdown the tablet and open it again, nothing happens T_T :'(

Hi, some time ago I bought a M001 and I need to reinstall it - not starting up, that is, not starting up the Android, but shows a black screen.
When connecting to PC, PC sees no posters.
How to Win CE will install?

Hi, after inserted Sd Card, the process start, but after 15-20 seconds the display shows a chinese windows ce, without touckpad support. I tried to poweroff the device holding for a wile the power button and it closed. once restarted the power led is on, but nothing happen. Anybody can help me, please?

I try to install Hopelessness edition and get "Format Volume() fails", try to install over FW 2.0, 2.2 and 1.7.2, 1.7.4 (in which pad after SD removing not to boot). When I try Win CE version from http://www.digitalgadgets.com/netbooks/SYNET_NEW_SHELL_IMAGE.zip format and file copy ends fine and unit ask to remove SD and restart, pad not boot!
My M001 is from dealextreme, I bought it in January, it comes with FW 2.0 v0915

2. install Win CE version from http://www.digitalgadgets.com/netbooks/SYNET_NEW_SHELL_IMAGE.zip format and file copy ends fine and after removing SD card and rebooting, system booted correctly, but touch panel is not working.
3. then I replaced safe_nk.nb0 in Hopelessness with safe_nk.nb0 from SYNET and installing finished fine, but after restart, device did not start.

Do you have any idea how to move forward?

Replace normal_nk.nb0 and scriptcmd too, device boot with Hopelessness logo, wifi works, no touchscreen...
