I followed the instructions, but w7 kept trying to auto find drivers. I kept holding in that *&#@ menu key, went to control panel in w7 device manager, clicked on unknown device, then clicked on the option to manually find the drivers. I navigated to them clicked on them and they installed after a few seconds. I then let go of the menu button on the apad. followed the rest of the directions and it was a done deal. Hope that helped! lol

If your answer was also, can you please expand on that? Are you saying that Windows XP Mode works? Jlove seems to say that this isn't the case and that WVware Player is required with a Windows XP 32bit virtual machine...

Like others, I have used 32-bit WIndows 7 to install firmware on my aPad. I know that hiapad.com says 32-bit Windows only for the updater software, but has anyone tried installing the software and drivers as an administrator - you know, right-click - run as administrator?

Just installed it using Windows 7 x86. Please follow the instructions exactly:power on/off and keep menu pressed while reconnecting the usb cable.Windows will now identify an unknown device, not an Android phone. For the unknown device point windows to the device folder and it will install an RK28Usb hub device. After this the firmware loader should work as expected. It did for me, just checking out firmware 6.0Santi.
