Will there ever be a possibilty that someone can cook up a rom that will let the cdma hero run the a81-e and have internet anywhere that we go with our phones. I know trhat it has something to do with ad-hoc but I was wondering if this option is even possible. Or is there a phone out right now that will let us do this.

Just so you know - you are not alone. I have a Hero CDMA and with wifi tether running on Froyo. The A81E does not see the AP. No clue as to why.

There was nothing there that helped out everyone else there is having trouble. I will keep digging because that was the only reason i bought this tablet.

ummm.... the replies were VERY helpful and told you EXACTLY what to do to get the a81e/MIDnite/whatever to see the access point. you just need to do a little work yourself and SEARCH adhoc in the forum.

I see where you have to type and change things in the system but I need to know the right way to go into the system and change settings and what not. I do not think that my tablet is rooted.My phone is rooted though the easy way. Can someone get me started on how to get into the system i am kind of new to this. How do you get into the tablets system to change system settings i do not want to mess my tablet up with no clue what to do.it seems that site has it working. Please help a noob.

After you root your Hero and A81-E and install the Wireless Tether app on the Hero, follow the instructions here - http://www.slatedroi...-adhoc-on-a81e/ . I have a CDMA Hero and it works fine. Post if you run into issues.

Thanks for the link, but I think we misunderstood each other. I'm actually looking for ways to tether wifi from my CDMA Hero on AP (infrastructure) mode rather than ad-hoc mode. This is because my other mobile device does not detect ad-hoc hot spots. Have you seen any solutions? Sorry for the confusion.
