Hello, I've just received my "somethingpad", bought as an iRobot, but it is no iRobot. Can you please help me clarifying what pad is it in order to choose the correct firmware upgrade (if possible)? The pad is exactly like this one:http://www.pandawill.com/panda-pad-...nsor-silver-rj45-adapter-included_p36749.htmlexcept that the ethernet/usb adapter has no flytouch label, and the pad itself has also no flytouch label. The only logo it shows during boot is the standard Android (no flytouch).The card box says "iRobot", but I know this not true. So, how can I distinguish between an ePad and a flytouch, as far as I know they look similar but their firmware is not compatible, and I don't want to brick mine in the first day ;-)Is there some way to identify the CPU used in my pad (without opening it)? And its clock speed?ThankFernando

Hi danhi, thanks for your reply, I've bought it on ebay, not in the pandawill, my problem is how can I distinguish between the flytouch and the epad, the images I saw on the internet are the same, but from the posts I see here their firmware is not compatible. Any tips?

My doubt is what specs should I put... As I told before, the unit looks exactly like thishttp://www.pandawill.com/panda-pad-m...ed_p36749.htmlbut has no flytouch logo as in the usb adapter in the picture, nor any flytouch logo during startup, only plain android boot screen. For the seller specs, there are lots of errors as usual, he mention rockchip and VIA processor, multitouch, etc. so it is better not to trust any of this:ITEM DISCRIPTIONScreen 7" high-definition LED screenCPU Rockchips VIA WM8505 、600MHZ basic frequency、600MHZ DSP decode System Andriod 1.7Storage 2GB-32GB Memory 128M DDR2Resolutoin 800*480Touch Screen multi-point pure touch screen Battery 3000mAh hi capacity ( 5 hours)Wireless Network Wifi2.11 b/g wireless lan Usb Port USB 2.0Camera 1.3 million high-definiton pixelTone 3DPA、audio output port; MIC inside、3D earphone port calling Card Port T-flash cardSupport function(WCDMA/EVPO optional----external connection USB)PMP Full-screen 720p high-definiton broadcasting Game Support all Android Editions` GamesNetwork Correspondence QQ、MSN、SkypeOffice Soft Need the third party to supportlanguage chinese,english,russian,traditional chinese,german etc. Size 190mmX120mmX14mmaccsessorise mini usb
Using Quick System Info I get the following main characteristics (I don't know how reliable is the CPU information, for me it seems faster than the 174MHz clock speed it reports, I work with similar architecture ARM9 processors at 200MHz and seem slower than this one):Android System Report - 2010 7 2 19:02:02#Created by Quick System Info version 1.4.3Device: genericModel: genericProduct: genericBrand: genericRelease: 1.6Build: Donut.eng.simenxie.20100530.023235Locale: pt_PTLinux version 2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.2.0 20070126 (prerelease) (MontaVista 4.2.0-3.0.0.0702771 2007-03-10)) #23 Wed May 26 19:01:37 HKT 2010Basic Info========================================================================================* SD card storage Total: 1.87GB, Free: 1.87GB* A2SD Storage Information not available* Internal storage Total: 618MB, Free: 568MB* System cache Total: 100MB, Free: 95.49MB* Memory Total: 226MB, Free: 131MB, Idle: 73.68MB* Processor ARM926EJ-S rev 5 (v5l) 174.48MHz* Network Address 192.168.1.231Scaling CPU frequency state not found.Processor : ARM926EJ-S rev 5 (v5l)BogoMIPS : 174.48Features : swp half thumb fastmult edsp javaCPU implementer : 0x41CPU architecture: 5TEJCPU variant : 0x0CPU part : 0x926CPU revision : 5Hardware : WMTRevision : 0000Serial : 0000000000000000MemTotal: 231292 kBMemFree: 75444 kBBuffers: 1104 kBCached: 58296 kBSwapCached: 0 kBActive: 59676 kBInactive: 49108 kBActive(anon): 49716 kBInactive(anon): 0 kBActive(file): 9960 kBInactive(file): 49108 kBUnevictable: 0 kBMlocked: 0 kBSwapTotal: 0 kBSwapFree: 0 kBDirty: 4 kBWriteback: 0 kBAnonPages: 49400 kBMapped: 27840 kBSlab: 4852 kBSReclaimable: 1364 kBSUnreclaim: 3488 kBPageTables: 5032 kBNFS_Unstable: 0 kBBounce: 0 kBWritebackTmp: 0 kBCommitLimit: 115644 kBCommitted_AS: 2484520 kBVmallocTotal: 147456 kBVmallocUsed: 56092 kBVmallocChunk: 64508 kBIf anyone could point me to an 'alternative' firmware for this model, please let me know ;-)ThanksFernando
