Anyone know what the ideal wallpaper size is for this tablet as 1024x600 don't get displayed properly and gallery wants to crop but when on screen they look zoomed in. They display fine when browsing so should be ok as wallpaper

i use big pictures, 1600x????, when set as wallpaper you can choose the area that should be displayed. but, i know what you mean, sometimes gradients look awful after set as wallpaper.
not only that the area you set isn't what is displayed in landscape, in portrait it shows about
percent of selection

i've tried different resolutions but all the same - fine when viewing as slideshow but none can be used perfectly as background

on web screen gets found as 1024x461

I noticed that too, maybe it is some sort of related to the dpi value...

Picture backgrounds really look crappy, but i think this was better in Flashback.

Anyway I´m using Live Wallpapers now, as they look great on the screen.
My wallpapers look better when using go launcher, no zoom or stretch. try other picture sizes tomorrow.

Tried 1024x1024 but same issue the full image is not used for the wallpaper

i've tried various sizes and think the problem is when it gets applied as the actual wallpaper - no matter what you select in gallery as image it is only displays a portion of it on the screen

Not sure if it helps, but the Asus transformer has similar problem. They found out, that the actual wallpaper size should be much bigger, than the tablet screen.
Here is the link for the templates, it might help somebody:

Thank you!
I only knew that, because I had a transformer before, and I'm a regular XDA reader since 2008, but nothing special about me, I can assure you.

Ahh ok I'll give that a good read, cheers Soni
Please do try it, and let me know how it works out. I'm still just about to get my Hannspad today or tomorrow.

I think I've found a solution

Download "Multipicture live wallpaper" from the app market

This allows u to select images from your gallery, and in the configure menu set to fit to screen

(((EDIT))) No.2

There's an option for frequency of wallpaper to change, set according

nice find - it's best to get 1024x600 images for the background as they will fit nicely
not sure if it will work but we had the same problem on the 7" galaxy tab (1024x600)

there is a simple apk which set wallpapers.

this app worked great on the hannspad and suddenly all the wallpapers that looked crappy and blurry suddenly look pin sharp and amazing :¬) and the screen looks hi res agan

thanks so much!

I would love for someone to explain to me what this app does to make it work ... the default behaviour - whether its android or tapntap, is absolutely dire, and doesn't show off the tablet in the best light - changing wallpapers is one of the first things people do when they get a new tablet

I've also attached handfull of wallpapers I made for my sons tablet - they are all sized correctly (1200 x 1024)

cheers
