Which firmware are you running on it ? the stock upgrade comes with a video player already installed have you already put a video on it? If so so if you go to your file manager and select it , it should start to play.

The video has been converted with handbrake to obtain an .3gp file. This file plays perfectly under my htc dream g1 but with the tablet the resolution is very very bad.

I don't think there's been any comprehensive review/trial of avaiable video players, a lot of us are just waiting for delivery ....Mine is here tomorrow, and I'll try to tackle thisPlease reply with names/sources of known video players

Unless highly pixelated and choppy video are your thing, I wouldn't waste time trying to use this device for Video. Even when you find the right encoding for it and get working video files (which are hit and miss, 2 different files, same encoding, one may play the other may not) the playback experience is horrible. If you want a low cost video tablet, the Archos 7 HT is a good choice for $199 from Amazon. I got mine today, and while it is more expensive, if you need video the small difference is worth it (esp since the Archos device gets more battery life with video playback and wifi on than the Eken does with wifi off and just being used as a reader). The Eken has other advantages, but video isnt its strong suit.

Hello, perharps, you're right, jalander, this tablet is not made for playing videos...I wait to buy the Archos 7 when it will arrive in France.

I'd love to hear a compare contrast on the eken to the Archos 7 Home Tablet. I almost bought one instead of this but Amazon didn't seem to have a clue on how to ship them out so I canceled my order. :(Of course, probably would be more suited to a different thread.

I'm working on a review, but the battery life is easily 2-3 times as long with the Archos 7 HT. Video playback and wifi on and it stayed going for over 6 hours next to my monitor. Also, Amazon started shipping them on the promised date, May 19th. They had a huge number of orders, so some of them didn't go out until the 24th. But by the 24th, all pre-orders had been fulfilled.

EKEN M100 plays video quite well, yes it has to be converted to mp4 and rescaled but works! i use 480X270 with 500 kbps bitrate and 128 kbps audio. 90 minutes are around 300 mb. good video players are: act1video player, MVideo Player, Real Player!
