HiI installed the newest version fo your ROM 1 hour ago. But there's one, big problem. The touchscreen isn't working. Menu button works. Ah yes, I use the Eken M001.It worked with the original firmware. Maybe you've got a tip or something?Thank you very much and best regards from Switzerland

I installed V1.2.2 on my M001 and: 1. I can't get root. 2. I can't connect via adb. I uncompressed it on my Ubuntu Linux system and I do have the 7zip deb package installed....but I'll try extracting it with 7zip on my Windows PC to see if it makes any difference. Gotta have root to get the Market fix to work.

I downloaded yesterday. How do I know what version I'm using? The filename of the downloaded file doesn't say. Everything seems to be working for me, but I don't notice a huge improvement over Ecotox. Touch may be better, but I do not really noticed it yet. But it seems every bit as good. The market hack seems to have worked fine - able to download from market. Swap works. I have not checked the wifi hack. The problem I'm having is that it's a significant amount of work to load a new rom, reinstall all of my programs, and get them set up. Android really needs a way to backup programs and data so that they can be restored in batch without losing all of the programs and settings. It's hard to keep up with daily changes when so much work is required to reinstall everything.

For backups, (rooted) Android phones can have a custom "recovery" image on the phone that allows the "NAND" (firmware system area) to be backed up onto the sdcard. But these devices appear to not have a recovery image. It may be that someone who knew what they were doing could write a bootable, non-persistent firmware image to an sdcard, then back up the NAND on the M001 to a folder on the sdcard....and also be able to do the reverse, restoring a backup taken previously.

Hi Roger - Many thanks for the Vestinious ROM. The M001 was barely usable with the factory software, acceptable with Slatedroid ROM and now, with your ROM, it is actually enjoyable to use. I'm not sure what you did with the touch screen response but I'm not seeing the spurious hits and double characters I had with Slatedroid 1.3. Market works perfectly after applying the fix, although it took a few tries to get through the process. No issues with WiFi so far. I first loaded the Eken SDK 1.9, made sure it worked, then installed Vestinious 1.2.2 (the 08/20 version in the download section) over it. ...Doug

Have 1.2.2 working just fine on M002 rebranded by Umax (version without camera). As Roger knows (if he remembers
), got problems with wi-fi after flashing the tablet with his ROM and his drivers, but replacing his drivers with the original ones solved the problem. Now the M002 runs significantly faster and Im having no problems with it other than those imposed by manufacturer.Thank you for the FW, Roger.

Hi there, I flashed the firmware v. 1.2.2 today morning, working fine on my EKEN M001 so far. Former software version was EKEN original, built 1.9. Didn't try out market yet, cos its not important for me.Thanks for the work man, and good recovery.greetz, PADMAN
