Hi all,From Brighton, UK here and have just ordered this tablet, should be here soon.Assuming this does turn out to be Rockchip 2808 based, can anyone get me up to speed on the rom situation, and any cool software or teaks that should go onto it? (i'm not tech averse-I've been flashing ROMs to HTC devices for years, and always run jailbroken iphones,so can get stuck in

I'm just hoping it is actually the Rockchip. The seller has a few bad feedbacks but mostly good and seems like a new seller so fingers crossed.As with most listings I have seen the specs on the page aren't always necessarily true - I'm pretty sure that there isn't a rockchip for that price with a 1024x768 panel!Hence I have zero idea if it is a blue or red. It has a camera though - does that mean it is a red? Am I right in saying there is different firmware for the two models?Also, I believe that the rockhips have usb, but the last picture on that listing looks like the ports from an eken or something similar.I'm interested in articles I've seen like this too which show that multi-touch is possible on resistive screens - I wonder if that will be hacked on at some point. Sadly I can't program or I'd give it a go myself.

The talk about the touch points - sounds pretty straightforward theoretically. I noticed that after posting that link an article made the front page Couldn't you run something in ram to update the touch point on an ongoing basis and get rotation too? Just a wild thought...The tablet should be arriving Monday, and don't worry, I will keep updating this thread as I find out more interesting stuff.

Its still not here. This guy is dangerously close to some Paypal action and getting panned on this here forum.If this doesn't arrive by the end of the week I'm logging a dispute, buying a ten inch in a couple of weeks and chasing my refund.

I did, he isn't replying to messages. Even whois'd the domain for his registered paypal email and his given phone number is a fax.

Still no tablet. Paypal dispute logged.Going to just either buy a blue LED apad from tabletstoreuk, or go the whole hog and get an android 2.x 10incher on payday.Shall keep you updated on the seller's response to this dispute.

Tabletstoreuk have the rockchips for a decent price and its UK stock so next day delivery.I saw that engadget story today. Ok maybe I will stick with a 7 inch. Still got to get money back from Paypal or buy a new one (assuming it doesn't magically turn up in the next day or so). I wonder if the iPad is sold on credit.... IN other news, 7inch iPad is rumoured! Wonder what the pricing will be like!

Hmm ipad is still too pricey. I've got an iphone 4 so I think I'll stick with the Android. My gf has an HTC Wildfire and I have to say I'm quite impressed with the price point manufacturers are now reaching with Android as the OS.Here's hoping the apad arrives tmrw, so I can close the claim.

NO pad as yet. Safe to say I've been conned. Will wait until Paypal dispute is resolved then add him to bad ebay sellers on this forum.As such, I am going to have a bit more money on payday this week, up to about ?150 tops. Any point in bidding on a Zenithink or a 10 incher?

Safe to say this never ever arrived. Should have a smartq v7 by the end of the week though - android 2.1 and ubuntu lxde
