Is there a way to change the touch screen sensitivity? I find that I have to slam my finger everywhere on this device.

These devices are so finicky that every one seems to be different. Mine I can use light presses in some area's and heavy in others. There seems to be no QC, on the devices before they ship whatsoever. That's a hardware bug not a software one and you should take it back and try another one(or get your money back)
