Does anyone know if there are android-ports of text-based browsers, such as lynx, elinks, w3m, etc? Thanks!

you're kidding, right? you can turn off pics in opera. does that help?

seriously- kind of a workaround but you can change the preferences to "mobile" in opera. Also if you find the wap urls for your favorite sites, as long as the user agent string isn't "desktop" it should give you those versions.

I'd hazard that if you had the Android SDK for 2.0 you MIGHT be able to build one of those yourself and push it onto the PDN then run it from a terminal app... have to ask someone who actually has hw for specifics though...BTW have you tried googling for existing Android versions of those? Someone MAY have built one with a basic GUI to run "natively" w/Android already...e.g. when thinking about some Android apps to write I googled terminals and popped up 3 different ones immediately, but only one sftp/scp app which was clearly geared for phones(single pane UI - ick)... then I stopped looking since nothing that I was interested in purchasing hwwise was likely to be available to me for several weeks... unless I get lucky in the GT raincheck lottery...
