*ReadMe*
TempestU39GT roms are meant to be lightweight, fast and functional. Anything fanciful that would contribute to bloat will not be added.

TempestU39GT roms are also tailored to the Cube U39GT. I personally maintain this rom for this device and this device only. This means there will be dedicated support for this device using this rom.

Note: TempestU39GT Roms have been tested to work and has been hosed down with bug spray. It still may have bugs though. please check post 2 to see if the bug has been listed before posting. Also, please be aware that I don't give a rat's behind about antutu or other benchmark scores. My emphasis is on real life performance rather than benchmarks. If you wish to ask about antutu or others, please create a separate thread.

Rom Downloads

Instructions on how to flash

WARNING: Flashing this repack will wipe your device including the internal SD card (aka Internal Storage), Strongly recommended that you remove external SD card
Download my RkBatchTool v1.7
Connect Cube U39GT to PC (if PC does not detect download and install drivers from the tools section of this post)
Select the repack image in RkBatchTool
Press Switch
Wait till the pink box turns green
Press upgrade
Wait till its done
First boot might take a little longer than expected
Once booted, the tablet will lag for a while as it is still initializing
Done!
Most important final step... Donate me a couple of beers

Any issues with my roms please post in this tread and I will do my best to help. However, anything benchmark related will not be entertained.

Came from the Iconbit rom, where I was fully unrooted and customized. This is 4.2.2 with Build no. V1.01 20140215 with Kernel version 3.0.36 (it does report Model number U39GT-W).

Haven't seen anything different from this than what came stock out of the v1.6 . Expect I'm now no longer rooted (Strange). Used RKBatchTool. After install, first reboot froze, but second and subsequent worked fine.

So you have tested it?? Ok so it's not Kitkat rom if version is 4.2.2

U39GT-W is the same as U39GT. The "W" is for White. (this is per several Russian owners who stated they could order the black or the white model.)

This Rom is by far the best Rom I've found so far. My biggest gripe is after about 2-3 days of use, the tablet becomes extremely slow and requires a full reboot. Other than that, I can live with everything else.

I'm confused why nobody has pushed a 4.4 out, especially since there are several clones/compatible devices with identical or very very similar hardware. If I had any ability to port a ROM (and by ability I mean knowledge), I'd do it myself, but I'm not as smart as those guys.

Good afternoon. Could you tell me how can I disable the locker. I tried unsuccesfuly to find the app in /system/apps.

Well, i have a U39GT-W too. When i plug it on USB, Windows show me a u39gt-W device. Anyone know if this rom is compatible with u39gt-W? Because im afraid to install it and brick my device...

Please do not misguide anyone. U39GT-W is NOT the same as U39GT. Flashing that U39GT-W firmware breaks the plain U39GT - it reboots instead of shutting down and cannot enter flash mode.

No intentional misguiding here. I installed the U39GT-W on my U39GT. Loaded up completely fine. Had it on there for several days, and didn't discover any advantages or disadvantages to it, but preferred the Tempest hybrid rom more. Again, it did not brick my device, so I'm not sure what happened if it did yours.
