Click the [^] on the right of the category to collapse it. It's the best you're going to get. And if you are someone who has no idea what device they have then it's very useful helping you find the right forum.
Suggestion to make image in forum listing optional
The tablets images in the forum listing, recently enabled, does nothing to improve navigation. They only serve to make the listings longer, by taking up more screen space per listing, and of course slower.

Thanks for pointing out the collapsing button. I figured that out shortly after the post. Can't agree on the recognizability of the pics. Most of the Chinese tablets use the same iPad-clone shell, so if anything would confuse newbies even more.But I understand, it is what it is, warts and all.
