I have stopped posting about deep sleep because I've got it working on my system. If you read thru my 3-4 long posts from several weeks ago..all the details are there.. But I'll summarize my experiences again.Currently I am running a clean install of the 8/06 firmware with GE installed, hacks for navigation bar, buttons, root, non-ugly market, and no wifi power saving made. I use Launcher pro and around 25 or so additional apps. Marketplace works. When I go to bed at night I let the device time out to go to sleep... If I use the switch something wakes it up around 1:00 am and leaves it in the very dim screen mode ( I believe this is due to GE). Letting it timeout at night lets it sleep all night without using any power... During the day I use the power switch mostly. Bur rarely go more than 3-4 hours without turning the PDN on. I usually turn wifi off when I am done but have noticed that the wifi turns itself off when going into deep sleep mode.I did reinstall the 7/24 code without GE and found the sleep problem still exists but is easier to solve...i.e. fewer problems to contend with. I have nothing running (to the best of my knowldge) that periodically checks something. I turn everything off that is not relevant to the PDN... Like haptic feedback, vibration, GPS etc. I leave it in plane mode also.. So some of these things may be causing the variations people see.I believe the key things are:1. Background data and auto sync off2. Use my location and back up my settings off3. I stop all running servicesFor GE users4. I delete the gls.db file5. I stop all tasks except smartbar and launcher pro 6. I check again with System panel lite and usually find updater running..I stop that alsoPut it to sleep..I suggest playing around with the 10-30 minute sleep steps. Once you get it sleeping that long you are almost home. Several people are unable to get that far... I have no idea why. I have found that if I go several days without rebooting my system it starts having sleep troubles. So at the first sign of not sleeping properly I reboot. And I do not use the reboot tool... but do a hard power off... Wait 30 seconds and then power on. I have to do some of the above stuff again... But then it sleeps beautifully again for several days..Good luck... I wish I could help more.. But this is still quite mysterious to me too. I have just managed to find a way thru the maze that works for me.
