Use it downhill!!!! No seriously, keep Advanced Task Killer at hand to close other apps, and try to keep an ear to the ground to select the best os version around. Ultimately is is a very slow system, but for me it is just right. I usually do browsing (especially news) and reading books...the image viewer is also very good.

As a general port of call the first thing to do would be to install custom firmware to it (SlateDroid or Ecotox). Once you have this I would recommend also using it with a stylus as this makes it a more fluid experience. Finally use Home++ home replacement, it's faster and it has a built-in task killer.
