I have been practically unable to find any software for windows ce so I thought I would start a thread of locations of software and good applications. Please post anything that you have found

One thing I have found is a vnc viewer (here)And polle have you got a list of the things inside the archive on mediafire

it is a "wicknix" upload and I do not have a list of the appr. 130 apps.,utilities and games the archive contain,I'm afraid.If copied to SD card the programs will run directly form the card.

I'm going to upload the folder to my wuala account and should soon be available here for all those that don't want to download the whole archive. I will also upload any new apps I find or people post on this thread; making this a sort of mini repository of windows ce apps.

Thanks for posting all these Windows CE files. Do you have to right click and download each file individually or is there an easier way that I'm missing entirely?Pierre

Unfortunately apps for Pocket PC (which im assuming PPC stands for) wont work on Windows CE even though they are basically the same.

They actually have a CE section there, but the focus on PPCs... Think of it as the American XDA lite site...

Unfortunately apps for Pocket PC (which im assuming PPC stands for) wont work on Windows CE even though they are basically the same.

Windows CE & Windows Mobile are different operating systems. One is designed for lowpower systems and interfaces, the other is for phones. Windows Mobile is based on Windows CE but thats about it. Bill Gates pulled a "Steve Jobs" you might say, iOS for the iPhone, iPad, iTouch is all based on a "lite" version of OSX. the version installed on the iPhone & iTouch are the say just with our without the "phone" feature. the iPad version is a different build revision for the screen and hardware.I also ran into this issue about 1hour ago when downloading software for CE when it turned out to be for Mobile.

Happily enough that's not quite true: As a an old (fashioned) pda user I still like PalmOS (5.2), which I use on my Sony Clie TH55. I am really astonished - and happy, to run (almost) all my PalmOS applications now on my M001. It's running on WINCE. There is a PalmOS Emulator for WM 6 called Styletap, which does a very good job, and it runs without problems on my WINCE (using a few tricks) and opens the PalmOS world with tens of thousands of good programmes.

Or is here easy way.

I am intereted in running PalmOS apps on my WinCE machine. Where do I get Styletap and how to run it in WinCE
