Now that I've gotten the Market to work etc,anyone know if the Nook app from the Market will work on our PDN's?I haven't downloaded it yet to try but thought I'd see if anyone has had success with Nook without having to alter much if anything.

It is failing for me. I am running the modified 8-6 image and the nook app just errors out when it starts.

So, I can get the Nook app running, but when trying to read purchased book from B&N site, several pages display, then a blank page shows up. Several more pages are there, then another blank one.It has to be something on the PDN as I can see all of the pages when reading on the PC.Any thoughts?? Thanks.

Thanks.[/QUOTE']I have this experience as well - I think it's just a bug. If you rotate the screen and then rotate back to the screen's original position, it will then display the page again.

It is not very elegant, but at least it works.I hope there is some sort of fix for this in the future, just not sure if it is a Nook app issue, or how the app is being used on the PDN.

I just tried 2 recent Nook apk's pointed from Slatedroid, and don't even get as far as y'all seemed to. I am mainly interested in getting it working to see if I can use it while in the BN store to "preview" books with their free in-store reading deal. I found last night that I cannot get that to show up with the PDN's stock BN reader - discussed it with one of the "booksellers" there, and she said that was her understanding: if it is not a Nook or Nook app, it ain't gonna happen .... darn!

I was reading the comments in "Market" about how on a number of phones deleting the "LOG" file and allow the program to create a new file corrected the "SYNC" error.But they don't say where to find the "LOG" file??avid

I found that the older Nook app (2.2) works fine with the Cruz Reader UI beta 2.1.0 with full GE. I could not get the new 2.3 version of the Nook app to open books. I found the link to bunch of apps on someone's signature that I cant find now. A google search for bn.ereader_v2.2.apk will give you a couple links to download it.

So, I ran the Android Info Tool while paging through a book using the Nook app...this is the error that is occurring in the log when the blank pages display:

I spoke with BN tech support and they are aware of the blank page issue. They said they will soon have a tablet specific version of Nook available and it will be listed in the Market as Nook for Tablets. Unfortunely, he didn't say when.

Also I see if you do other things to force a redraw of that page it comes back. Adjust the font, stuff like that causes a redraw and the blank page successfully redraws.

So rotating isn't the only way to get it back. Weird.

I have the latest nook app updated by the market. Didn't seem to require any nook fixes.

Seems like it would be simple enuf to fix this, I wish they would do it.
