I pay for 1000mbps home internet. We have tested our speed using a number of highly rated apps and our speed has
never exceeded. 300mbps and is usually less than 100mbps. When I run a speed test on ATT - when our internet is
running especially slow - AT&T says our speed is over 900mbps which we have never seen using various “speed tests”
apps and it is occurring when our internet is slower than normal. Does this happen to anybody else

It can be frustrating when the actual internet speed you experience at home does not match the advertised speed or the results from speed testing apps. Discrepancies in speed test results can occur due to various factors, such as network congestion, limitations of the testing methodology, or even technical issues with your internet service provider.
It is not uncommon for speed test results to vary between different apps or services, as they may use different servers or algorithms to measure the speed. Additionally, network conditions can fluctuate throughout the day, leading to inconsistent speed results.
If you consistently experience slower speeds than what you are paying for, it is advisable to reach out to your internet service provider (in this case, AT&T) to address the issue. They may be able to investigate and help determine the cause of the discrepancy.
It is also worth noting that internet speeds can be affected by factors such as the type of connection (wired or wireless), the quality of your modem or router, the distance between your device and the router, and the overall network infrastructure in your area.
If you suspect that the speed test results from AT&T are not reflecting the actual speed you experience, you can try testing your internet speed with different reputable speed testing apps or websites. It may also be helpful to test the speed on multiple devices to see if there are any variations.
Remember that internet speeds can be influenced by various factors, and it's essential to consider a range of test results and factors before drawing conclusions. If the issue persists, contacting your internet service provider directly will allow them to investigate and assist you in resolving any potential problems with your connection.
