Hello,Wanna use swap, root your eken m003? I made new update.sh from eken m003 1.7.2 update. Rest of the files are from eken_tools.zip for m001, only update.sh is new. Read howto.txt and it should work. Download eken_tools_for m003.zip here:http://www.megaupload.com/?d=S3RA8EFRIt works with m003 firmware release. You can download it here: http://www.zonko.nl/files/m003.rarI'm not responsible if you brick your device.I double checked files that they are same that I used, to be sure. They work, here is a screenshot:http://i46.tinypic.com/14v0hg5.jpgI have done this to two eken m003 units and it worked on them both. And: I'm not responsible if you brick your device.

are in the same situation, but worse to me, does not update the files ..I understand why the manufacturers do not release the source code online to allow their customers to update their machine
Even if. at the moment the problem is we can't see whats wrong. (at leats in my case)Where does it stop in yours?(thought i edited it this morning)It works for me now. Had probably a problem with the installation of the System-Files. Helped deactivating 'verbose' in the update.sh where it unpacks the System-files

This is the only way to root? It's not possible without reflashing?BRPaPiTo
yes you have to reflash. It could be possible without it, but would mean someone has to rework the scriptfiles and see if that'll do.

rooted on my m003 1.7.2 according to above instructions and the howto.txt. Thanks!I had to recalibrate & reconfigure wireless etc after it, but if I but my USB debugging on clocksync (for examples) asks if it can sync as root.
i rooted successfully but now i have the Chinese version of the market. is any way to keep the root and have a English version of the market
Rooting M003 is not that difficult. You need to edit init.rc (which is running every startup under root privileges) to setuid /busybox/bin/suBear in mind that busybox su is looking for usernames in /busybox/passwd, so will need to create one.
