Hello All,

In this post is a relatively basic .BAT script.

[hr]
Download Link: Mediafire.com - Tasselhof-RootScript.rar

Alternate Link: DropBox.com - Tasselhof-RootScript.rar

This is a straightforward script.
It's sole purpose is to get your device rooted and provide the tools to verify it.
- Cleaned Up some extra unneeded files and added the Android Market App Upgrade from ContemptX! - Thanks!

I have added some options to Disable and Enable services to hopefully help with battery life.

**IMPORTANT PRE-CHECK LIST**

Connect your tablet using the OTG port (normal procedure)
-
YOU MUST USE THE INCLUDED USB CABLE
Make sure USB Debugging is ENABLED

- Settings --> Applications --> Development --> USB debugging (Green Checkmark)
Make sure to check Device Manager to ensure that there aren't any devices with a yellow exclamation mark.
- Right Click on My Computer --> Manage Device --> Device Manager
Here is a link to a driver package I created... (not positive it contains the needed one for this device, but it is a good place to start)
- Download Link: Mediafire.com - Android-USB-MultipleDriverPack.rar

http://www.mediafire...763ybcba6zmwfc8

1 Download
2 Extract
3 Copy 'adb' from you android sdk to extracted folder.
4 Run script
5 Enjoy

I tried it only on mac, but i think it must work in linux too. =)

Hey MrTasselhof, like we talked about on twitter. You were right there are 2 yellow ex. marks in device manager:

-Android
-USB Device(VID_1f3a_PID_efe8)

Your driver pack doesnt include these, I will look for them and let you know

UPDATE

I cant find the drivers anywhere.

bluetooth??

am i missing something i thought this tab had no bluetooth
Often even if the device doesn't have bluetooth built in, it support external bluetooth.
If you don't plan on using an external bluetooth, then you can disable the APK file and possibly save some battery life.

yep... it is the same as 3G and "telephony" which the system usually reports as a "big" power drain...

I selected a default Android -> Android Composite ADB Interface
I got it from
http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html
And now the root script works.

YAY, thanks op.
Could you clarify exactly what you did? I am stuck with no drivers. I downloaded the sdk and got the google usb driver package. but when I try and update drivers it isn't recognising them. I have "android" and "USB Device(VID_1f3a__PID_efe8)" both in device manager showing up with no drivers.

**FIX ANDROID DRIVER**
Just install and select "other device".
Plugin your device (make sure debug is enabled) and the driver will install.

Missing other drivers?
Turn off the device, then Plug in the device while holding Volume+ and tap the on/off button about 6 times.(Device will go into DFU mode)

Hope this helps

'
Choose Option (1 thru 9):
Option 3 Performs the actual ROOT process.
- It also installs the following programs: (don't worry if they are already installed)
* Superuser
* Root Checker
* Root Explorer
* Busybox
Option 4 attempts to replace the Android Market App with an updated version.
Option 5 Disables various service APKs to try to save battery life.
Bluetooth.apk
Mms.apk
Provision.apk
TelephonyProvider.apk
VpnServices.apk
Network3gMonitor.apk
shortcut3g.apk
Phone.apk - (Requires Immediate Hard Power Off and Reboot)
Option 6 Re-Enables all of the above services
Option 7 Re-Enables all of the above services except Bluetooth.apk
Option 8 Re-Enables only Bluetooth.apk

Watch the magic happen

Enjoy!

Hi Taselhoff, is there any chance to put in an option to reenable the vpn option as well? (Like you have with the 3g and bluetooth on the script?). The reason why is because I'm currently in China and I use a VPN to access the internet uncensored and to also access the Android Market as if I'm outside China. Is this at all possible?

I have responded to your private message with a link to a modified script.
