considering no firmware releases for this version as of yet, it's also safe to assume there are no mods that would work either?
(sorry, i don't mean to take this thread off-topic. this should be my last question)

Hi,

I have a C71 Upgrade 1M series.
Have seen thru the ROM update videos and write-ups.

I load the zt-update into the SD card's root, copy contents of the 1M folder into the zt-update folder.
Re-boot into recovery by holding the vol down and power, then insert the card and tap the vol down again.
the tablet does not get into the recovery, rather skips recovery and boots back up.

Have tried with ROM Manager app and here is the error that shows:
e: failed to mount /sdcard (invalid arguement)
this repeats 4 times; next
e:cant mount /sdcard (invalid arguement)
e:unknown volume for path (/udisk/zt-update/command)
e:cant mount /udisk/zt-update/command

I can access all contents on the sd card once booted up.
It is in NTFS format. Do I need to have this in Fat32?

In case I've got this in the wrong thread, please guide me to the correct one.

Thanks

Not sure since I don't have a ZT-282 tablet, but usually you need the sdcard to be formatted to FAT32 (with no partitions) to flash a Zenithink tablet....

Ok, not sure if the order you did was what you did, but this jumps out:

"I load the zt-update into the SD card's root, copy contents of the 1M folder into the zt-update folder.
Re-boot into recovery by holding the vol down and power, then insert the card and tap the vol down again.
the tablet does not get into the recovery, rather skips recovery and boots back up"

When I did this, I copied the zt-update into the cards root. The card should be FAT32. You may want to format it with the HP Utility.
Then, I installed the card BEFORE I rebooted into recovery with vol- and power.

Perhaps I did it wrong, but it worked.
