Rather than clogging up the ROM board I have created this thread so that you guys are able to make some suggestions as to what you would like to see changed/added in further firmware updates. If it gets enough attention then I may consider giving it a board of its own.

Am I right that apps which come with the firmware cannot be uninstalled? Then I would suggest a rather minimal system. When rooted I can install all of my favourite apps afterwards, right? Market would be great, but that's obvious
shouldnt be too hard, just move the apps too "/data" that way they can be uninstalled at leisure. Look for SlateDroid V0.2 in the coming weeks.

Regarding battery life, we really need two software things to help:- A CPU moderator, so it can crank itself down a ton when idle- Some kind of active power management software, I guess we do have some control over the screen timeout or Wifi time-out (i think), but it would be nice to have a tool that integrates all this, along with appropriate CPU slowing or overclocking, and everything in between, as needed. The SmartQ5/7 finally got this working nicely a few months ago, maybe look at how they did that. Also the Chronolytics firmware developer for the SmartQ I believe built this as well. Mine cycles from 50 to 800 Mhz as needed.
Someone already mentioned video, I'll add the obvious requests for Apps2SD and properly working sleep mode .... pleeeeease. ;)
This would be my favorite as well. App2sd and sleep, also being able tether to my android phone. Go devs go!!!

First anyone wanting an easy toggle for WiFi or screen brightness they should try the widgets from CurveFish -http://curvefish.com/widgetsI use the wifi & brightness widgets, both work fine on my m001.Now my ROM request - dimmer screen. As known one of the main drains on the batt is the screen display.I've noticed that the screen even on full dim is still visible in strong day light. To preserve batt life getting the screen dimmer would help when using device in low light conditions. Not sure if this could be done but it would help extend batt life. Thanks in advance.
