If you appreciate my work and would like to support me with a small donation you can click on button.
If every happy user of this rom would just donate a couple per month I could invest more time in all these Android projects, it'd cost you just like one coffee per month.

Instructions

* Unrar the "common" rar file and put "zt-update" folder to the root of a microsd.
* Put rom (cm-10.1-$DATE-UNOFFICIAL-c97.zip) and gapps (gapps-jb-$DATE-signed-ubifs.zip) files inside internal or external sdcard.
* Turn on the tablet keeping pressed VOL+ and POWER. Press VOL+ to confirm and you'll boot to CWM recovery.
* If this is your first install flash this file that will format /system, /data and /cache partitions and from "Wipe" menu erase "Android secure".
* Flash rom (cm-10.1-$DATE-UNOFFICIAL-c97.zip), gapps (gapps-jb-$DATE-signed-ubifs.zip) and, if you're using a different device, the required compatibility zip.
* Now select "Reboot system now".
* Enjoy CyanogenMod 10.1!

Changelog & download links

2013-05-18

* Updated upstream sources

Common 2013-03-03
ROM (md5sum)
Gapps 2013-03-01

Compatibility files for C93 H6 1F

Common 2013-03-03
Compatibility v1.1

Compatibility files for C93 H6 2F

TWRP recovery (create a folder named "zt-update" in your MicroSD and unzip there the recovery.img file; the bootloader will do the rest when you use the buttons trigger combination)
Compatibility v1.1

Note that if you're running the latest C93 stock firmware "ZT283_H6_2f_1GB_Android4.1_0202_V1.6" you will have to use this TWRP and this comp zip.
If you accidentaly used the previous files you'll see that partition's got fucked up and you'll have to flash the stock firmware to fix them

Issues

* Use another launcher (I suggest you "Nova" or "Apex") because Trebuchet screws the layout.
* Bluetooth stack has changed: USB bluetooth is not working right now; only devices with UART (internal) bluetooth works.
* If your device has only a front camera you won't have a camera launcher icon, but you can install this app

FAQs

* If you don't like Nexus 7 fingerprint and wanna use SGS-II instead flash this zip. Remember that changing fingerprint may screw Play Store, if it happens you'll have to perform a "wipe data / factory reset".
* WiFi now can stay enabled with display turned off. Note that if WiFi is enabled the tablet won't enter deep sleep so if you're more interestead in battery life instead of an always on WiFi change policy (on "Advanced" WiFi settings) from "Always" to "Never".
* Internal memory is mounted at /storage/sdcard0, external sdcard is mounted at /storage/sdcard1. If you wanna swap them (and make primary your real microsd) just flash this file after flashing rom's zip (you have to do it everytime you flash a new version of the rom)
* If you wanna format your internal memory (it's corrupted, filled of crap, etc.) just flash this file from recovery. If it fails try to unmount internal storage from "Mount" section.
* It's better if you don't change governor because the included "ondemand" has been customized to support "boostpulse" feature of jelly bean power hal. You can control min/max cpu frequency with display on/off editing these entries in /system/build.prop file (they're listed with their default value): "ro.sys.min_cpu_on=408000", "ro.sys.max_cpu_on=1200000", "ro.sys.min_cpu_off=96000", "ro.sys.max_cpu_off=1008000".

Looks like I'm having the same problem as some of the other guys.

Just got a c93 for my daughter last week, its the 2F version.
I've originally tried to flash using the original mentioned recovery and compatibility files. I've then since found that my model was shipped with ZT283_H6_2f_1GB_Android4.1_20130316_V2.2.zip
So with this in mind i'm presuming I should have used the recovery and compatibility files in the NOTE section on the 2F model?

With this being assumed I've tried to follow CT's guide to install 1.6 stock firmware but this fails.
So I then tried to flash factory reset.zip but this would not work either
Everything I try just gets constant errors stating:

E: Unable to mount '/emmc'

I've also tried flashing the ZT283_H6_2f_1GB_Android4.1_20130316_V2.2.zip ROM from the zenithink site and this also fails on flashing.

What i'm looking for is a step by step guide on what I should be doing.

I'm guessing that I should be flashing to v1.6 ROM as described by CT so many times in this post, when doing this does it make any difference which recovery.img I use? If so which should I use the original one mentioned in the 2F section ore the one in the note below that?

what I'm trying to get at is if i've screwed things I think my procedure should be as follows (the sections in bold are where i'm looking for conformation/clarification)

1 - run TWRP by creating zt-update folder in root of my SD card and renaming file to 'recovery.img' (WHICH VERSION OF TWRP IS REQUIRED)
2 - flash factory reset.zip in TWRP
3 - flash v1.6 stock rom provided in note in OP on 2F section
4 - flash compatibilty file from note in OP on 2F section (FILE ENDING 0316Kernel.zip?)

If you're using the 2.2 on 2F you have to go back to 1.6 and use the stuff in the "note" section.

You need to downgrade because Zenithink tried to screw us (I don't think it's an unintentional bug
), with their new bootloader (even on the C71A/C71L) when you boot to recovery using the button trigger AND the recovery.img on the microsd it wipes the partition table on the NAND (nice move ZT
).

The easiest way is downgrading to 1.6, it might even work if you just grab the recovery.img and from 2.2 (if it has root permissions on it) you just flash the recovery.img on the recovery MTD partition (flash_image recovery /path/to/recovery.img) and after that you boot into android using "reboot recovery" command or booting with the button trigger but WITHOUT the recovery.img file present in /sdcard/zt-update folder

But this second step is for "power users"

Anyway, once again, nice move ZT, you tried to screw me...

The problem I'm having is getting back to 1.6.
The second method you mention I'm assuming is if i'm booted into the 2.2 OS and using something like terminal emulator? Problem is I cant get an OS to boot at all at the minute.

I've tried flashing 1.6 using the recovery.img from the original 2F section and also the notes section. Should it make any difference which of these I use to try and re-flash 1.6?
My next issue is am I using TWRP correctly?
I'll list below the exact steps I take and hopefully someone can point out what I'm doing wrong.

1 - boot into TWRP using back + power button on c93 (by using the NEW recovery.img from the 'notes' section)
2 - select INSTALL from TWRP menu
3 - choose the 1.6.zip ONE PROBLEM I MAY HAVE HERE IS SHOULD I HAVE THE 'Using extrenal SD' or 'Using internal storage' CHECK BOX TICKED?
4 - .zip tries to flash but i get E:Unable to mount '/emmc' error

Anyone have any idea which bit i'm doing wrong, i'm sure its pretty simple

***EDIT***

Looks like I've got it sorted.
I'll put together a guide on my step by step on how I solved my issue in a little while I just have to pop out now.
to flash stock firmwares you need the stock recovery

It must be some app you've installed that maybe tries to sync or do whatever the app is going to do when the screen turns on and for some reason fails and crashes the whole system.
Try to do a factory reset and see if it happens on a "naked" system
Hi Christian,

A great thanks, it was an app. After i uninstall it, no more freezes ! Thanks for this great rom and your help !

today I will release the updated ROMs. Subscribe to this thread because from now on zenithink devices will use the compatibility zip as well.

In a couple of hours all the roms will be up and you'll be ready to test it. BTW I was able to test it only on the C97

So is this the new thread to watch for C93/C97 ROM updates ?
and then we'll use the link you just gave for the common & compatibility files.
That link is just for the compatibility zip, roms update are in the "official thread" linked at the beginning of that OP. BTW i compile new ROMs every 2 weeks, usually on saturday or sunday

Hi Christian,

Is the popping sound problem in standby solved in your ROMs now? In that case I'd move back to PA3. Thanx for all your work!!!

You have CM and AOKP linked on that thread, but not PA. Was that an oversight or is PA no longer supported?
Hi Chris,

Why is nos necessary the comp zip for C97? What's the procedure to put CM 10.1 on it ?

Sent from my Zenithink C97

you just have to flash one more zip, everything is explained in that thread
I'm using your ROM but I made the old procedure, whats the difference between the old and the new one with comp zip ? Any changes?
there won't be any update for this rom so it's better if you move to the comp zip based one
Hi Christian,

Remember me ? My C93 was freezing after unlock. After you told me to try again with a "naked" tablet, all was ok. But not for a long time...

I've tried differents solutions, and i think i found the bug ! When i set the wifi policy to "when screen turns off", it freezes when unlocking (about
% of the time). If i set it to "never", i have no problem.

Is it a known bug ? I don't find much informations on that issue.

Nope, it's an hw fault. Your unit has troubles coming out from suspend to ram state.

That's a bummer. Mine has been doing the same thing for the last month or two. Not sure which release it started with, but it didn't do it when I first got the C93. If it's a hardware defect I really doubt there's going to be any hardware/warranty support from Zenithink.
Thanks for your replies. i'll try to flash with the stock firmware, and see if it happens. If not, i'll sell my C93 and buy a new one !
