I want to flash different firmware onto my tablet but the last time I tried this it bricked the tablet and I had to send it back to get replaced. From what I've gathered if anything goes wrong (and it probably will!) I can flash the original ROM that the tablet came loaded with and everything will be fine. Firstly, is this correct, and secondly, how do I make a copy of my current ROM for flashing purposes?

Hi Hillscrimer,

Not sure if there isn't a bit of a chicken and egg thing gong on here. The easiest way to do a full system backup is to flash a new Recovery. When you boot into the Recovery you get the option to do backup which will restore everything just as it was (inc apps and settings)

If i was you I'd make sure I knew where to get hold of the manufacturer's ROM and how to instal that. I think yours is the silver backed version? Pretty sure there are several links to Ployer's ROMs for that unit. Once you have that, flash a new Recovery, backup to the sdcard and move the file to your PC. Then flash away.
