I have successfully flash with the above. So far so good. It's has fewer app like Youku' date=' QQ, etc, has been taken out as compare to the original set. But the problem is the RKAnriodTool is in Chinese and my system display all in weird characters. [/QUOTE']Good to hear!Can you confirm how much free internal storage there is on this rom, and does the G sensor work with this firmware? Also, does wifi turn on without enabling usb host mode?I am currently running the factory shipped 0729 but it only stays in landscape mode. Free internal storage is 1.05GB with this firmware.. and wifi works without turning on usb host.. so I am just wondering if it's worth upgrading yet.(Red led, 9V - 1500mA, Kernal version: 2.6.25 rockchip version 1.2.7 (ruiguan), Build number: RK-1.3.2.eng.root.20100729.130751)Thanks in advance!edit: G sensor works, just not when you're at the home screen.
You need to run rockdevmkupdate.bat to create the Imageupdate.img file. Then you just update using the standard hiapad rkandroid DM v1.2 installer. I can confirm this works fine. Can you still detect the device when the device is connected via USB cable to computer? If you can you haven't bricked it but if you can't you've likely bricked your device Now that said after updating I've no luck with WCDMA...but I also can't save an APN. Will try to manually insert it into an update.img and reflash to see if that works.
I also tried that but no luck as of yet.Yeah it still detects the device so the bootloader seems okay.Here's whats inside my log for both flashing apps..
RKAndroid Tool log00:25:20 359 INFO:Test device start00:25:20 359 INFO:Writing ID_Block start00:25:20 359 Flash chip info:00:25:20 359 NO SIZE(MB) Manufacturer00:25:20 359 ----------------------------------------------00:25:20 359 0 2048MB SAMSUNG00:25:20 359 ----------------------------------------------00:25:20 359 INFO:Start to build flash state map00:25:26 421 INFO: Start to find all ID BLOCK00:27:07 703 INFO: Start to update ID BLOCK00:27:07 718 ERROR:UpdateIDBData-->ReadMultiSector failed' date='ErrCode(-1)00:27:07 718 ERROR:UpdateIDBData failed00:27:07 718 ERROR:Writing ID_BLOCK failed,ErrCode(-23)[/code']
Exactly how it looked for me too' date=' until I managed to find just the USB cable that worked. I lost count over how many different cables I've tried, but finally I found one that worked. Seems silly that the flashing process should be so "fragile", and I couldn't believe that it was the cable that was the culprit, but obviously it was.[/QUOTE'] Really? :)That gives me a bit of hope... but it's kinda weird that it will detect the device but it won't flash properly... I guess I can try two more cables that I have laying around.I have the new MD01-V6.0 version with the red led and 9V charger but I don't know if this 0802 firmware works with it. Ideally I'd like to flash it (or recover) with the factory 0729 firmware, but it's obviously not available yet.

Indeed, thanks to Xaueious and chip3c (Li Xin) for this firmware!And thanks Hucqim80 for the ideas! :)And just to summarize, this firmware works for the new MD01-V6.0 mainboard revision (details below)Charge LED: RedCharger Output Voltage: 9V - 1500mAModel number: sdkDemoFirmware version: 1.5Kernal version: 2.6.25 rockchip version 1.2.7 (ruiguan)Build number: RK-1.3.2.eng.root.20100729.130751Thread link: http://www.slatedroid.com/apad-andr...ted-bricked-apad-irobot-md01-v6-0-solved.html
djxsDoes this rom work better than the stock rom (I have the same apad as you' date=' lunarsources)? What did you do differently that worked (rather not brick it)? I am going to try to do this from Ubuntu and I will post if I can make it work. Thanks[/QUOTE']It's pretty much the exact same rom you have now (same build date and everything).. but without the Chinese characters in a couple of apps.. everything else is the same. I would stick with the version you currently have since I'm noticing that'll it'll shut off by itself sometimes which didn't happen before.. I'm thinking this one needs a little tweaking (0802CN) and yours already has some from the factory.As for not bricking it, I tried 3-4 different cables, but the one that came with it worked the best. Always use a USB2.0 port that is directly connected to the motherboard, don't use front ports or hubs. Also use RKAndroidDM instead of RKAndroidTool to flash your device.

I have information Overload.... Most of the summary is the same as Mine but I have version 1.7.4 ( yuxing ). Build 1.3.2.eng.root.20100806.025602I have been told I have a version 3??? But after several failerd Flashes I have gotten most of the function back using the Apad_Irobot_Update_batch3_0806-en. zip located on the Hiapad.com web site. How can I be Sure exactly what I have? The version 3 Update procedure ( top USB Port ) and both buttons work to start the Update. Any Help ?
Yes, you have the "real" 3rd batch BLUE LED apad irobot made by Shenzhen Utopia (hiapad). Currently 0806 is the newest firmware available for it and you already have it installed. Do not try flashing 0802CN since your apad uses the 3.20 bootloader while mine uses version 3.27.. and obviously uses a different kernel too.
