It's up: Apad_iRobot_Update_Batch3_0612-CN.zip - apad-irobot - Apad iRobot Update 0612 Batch 3 Chinese (Android 1.5) - Project Hosting on Google CodeThis was the factory shipping firmware for batch 3 units. I flashed the system.img onto my batch 2, and boy is this firmware a mess. Don't flash this. Wait for rogerbraun's repack. Videoplayer force closes. It's in Chinese. Youtube is rotated 90 degrees (they probably unpacked a hybrid firmware and pasted it in), and a bunch of junk apps that don't work. only 25MB free in data. Oh and the home button is still a back button.Base is RK1.3.2. Framework resources and libs should be transferable. But the rest of the rom is crap

+1 don't flash this. On my BluePad 'hold buttons to flash' version this just keeps hanging in 'formatting DATA:' then loops forever..!Edit: After flashing recovery.img from the original version that was inside, i can get it to boot one time, & work fine. However, after a reboot, the unit fails to start up again. ADB shows :
Code:
AndroidRuntime( 754): >>>>>>>>>>>>>> AndroidRuntime START <<<<<<<<<<<<<<AndroidRuntime( 754): CheckJNI is ONdalvikvm( 754): Can't open dex cache '/data/dalvik-cache/[email protected]@[email protected]': No such file or directorydalvikvm( 754): Unable to open or create cache for /system/framework/framework.jardalvikvm( 754): Failed on '/system/framework/framework.jar' (boot=1)dalvikvm( 754): VM cleaning updalvikvm( 754): LinearAlloc 0x0 used 4100 of 4194304 (0%)dalvikvm( 754): JNI_CreateJavaVM failed
Looks time like something is odd with the recovery files or scripts or something.. ?
We received a batch of what we think is V3 with 806 Firmware on it, does this sound correct?9v Charger Metallic (M) Model.
Hi, I just received my APad iRobot. From my information it is one of the devices and in particular it is a Batch 3 (Blue LED on charging from a 9V supply). I loaded the Apad_iRobot_Update_Batch3_0806+-EN.zip that I pulled down from HiApad. It made the device much more usable than the initial installed OS and apps that were delivered. the update.img was loaded onto the device with the RKAndroidDM windows(ze) application ( I still would like to do this from Linux) First, thanks to all that had a hand in making the resources available. Second, I had to use the mini-USB port that was nearer to the microSD slot and not the 3mm headphone jack. It worked. Also, the process was off/on then hold the Menu and then Power. The device did not power up but the RKAndroidDM saw the device then. I had to keep all held and then select update and OK from the app. The device was updated (again thanks). Now I will review where I am.

i prefer the rom for batch 3 from the tabletstoreuk, its much more stable and it has the suspend function missing from the hiapad firmware, i am guessing its one of rogers roms as he has a batch 3 apad from the tablet store

no, most probably will brick your apad.
i've already update my firmware, it worked perfectly, but i haven't use all of the functions, especially the wifi function. I've tried to switch the wifi on, but it's still crossed out on the wifi symbol on the top of my apad. Is it always like that? and btw do you happen to know the best office application? thanks
