I have read about the red light being seen inside the USB connector while charging, but I also see a red light in the earphone hole... Even when the unit is powered off.. Am I the only one this happens to?

When charging you can see the light through most every hole in the side of the device.. You are plugged in when you see it right?CPG

You should only see it when your AC is connected to the device?

Yes, I see the bright light when I plug in out of the USB... When unplugged, or even shut off, I still have a faint red light from the holes...
