I received similar messages when using the not compatible Realtek Wifi Dongle. Did you try to plug in a wifi dongle?

I been running the Pre-Alpha 0.2 for a long time and it's been working real good. As a server.

Found I could not stay logged on for about more then 24 hours at lest with putty. It woule disconnect. I looked up the error on Google and found this web page that showed how to fix it.

So what I did was just how it showed.

My default /bin/sh symlink was pointing to dash (/bin/sh -> dash)

Got it resolved by changing it to /bin/bash as below,

$ ls -l /bin/sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Aug 17 10:29 /bin/sh -> dash
$
$ sudo mv /bin/sh /bin/sh.bak
$ ls -l /bin/sh.bak
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Aug 17 10:29 /bin/sh.bak -> dash
$
$ sudo ln -s /bin/bash /bin/sh
$ ls -l /bin/sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 Oct 6 13:50 /bin/sh -> /bin/bash
$

Cheers,
Manoj
Putty has been logged on for more then 24 hours now and has not disconnected me.

Hi all,
I am a new user and i need help. Sorry for the english.
I have a mk802 III with rk3066.

I have read that i can't use 3D openGL support for games.
I need to install a webcam and run some face-tracking code (c++) and I want to know if with this ubuntu (linux), i could use the openGL libraries for use the openCV libraries (http://opencv.org) or the openframeworks libraries (http://www.openframeworks.cc/download/) ?
thanks.

I used dd in Ubuntu to make an 8GB image of my working sdcard of picuntu.

Now i have copied this over to the system NAND on the MK808, how do i get the kernel to use the NAND rather than sdcard?
Maybe i created the image incorrectly and it should normally 'just work' ?

Thanks for any replies.

Just to support the idea of linux on RK3066 tablets:
I would be happy and exited, to use linux on my tablet. Like I do on my computers for 7 years.
I could at least try test anything (as I am not in any way professional with that level of linuxing)

You can try this! I have a brand new edition of Picuntu re-packaged with lots of goodies!
Goto this link: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/70505-mk808rk3066-linux-system-image-picuntu-rc3olegk0-kernelmali-hw-accellquakeqt/

On the second page there is instructions and a single file install for Windows Users to easily flash your device and boot Linux/Android dual booting. I am uncertain if this will be a perfect solution or not because I do not know WHICH tablet you are using but provided it has the same Wirelss chip as UG802 or MK808 then this should work. I would love to hear of someone sucessfully booting my new image on a tablet! I would of course suggest making a COMPLETE FULL NAND System backup of the tablet before experimenting and could help with instructions for that if you are uncertain on how to do a full system backup. I will be purchasing a RK3066 tablet my self to begin testing/developing (and possibly writing special tablet-a-fied software for linux) In the mean time if you could list the information about your device that would be helpfull. A link to where you purchased it would be fine enough and I could investigate from there OR if you know the information you can post here. I would like if possible the Make and Model of the device as well as any known chipsets (such as RK3066, Mali400, Wireless: BCM4... etc.. etc..) A link to the item online would probably provide this info. I will try to purchase a similar model or something that at least has the same HW as most of the popular RK-Tablets. Can't wait for everyone to have Linux on EVERYTHING. WINDOWS PLEASE DIE!

Hi everyone!
I have a MK802III with finless1.7 Rom fully functional.
I had no problem installing finless Rom.

I tried to install any linux distribution without success.

After flash recovery.img and reboot, android works well, but, when i try to reboot in recovery, i see olny blue screen (no signal).
I'm sure the flash process works well.

What can I do to get linux on MK802III?

Thanks!

Hey guys,

I have a cs968 box and i've managed to install picuntu without wifi & bluetooth but other than that there seemed to be no problems. Then i restarted the device and now it is in bootloop. I've tried to install it again but its not reacting. When i start up the device, linux tries to startup then another screen comes up saying that starting without any network and boots again. Sometimes mouse cursor is visible but immediate boot follows. Device is not recognized in windows, so i cant really use rkbatchtools or anything to flash stock. When i try to go to recovery ( press and hold the reset button for 5+ secs) it shows nothing and does not try to boot just sits with a black screen.

Any thoughts?
