Be sure to link where possible, and to include the make and class (speed - 2, 4, or 6). If there's a trick or rebate, let us know too.

You can get that for an 8gb class 2 easy, but if you find that for a 16gb class 4 lmk asap. Seriously. I'll buy a fricking stack...

I'll buy a fricking stack...[/QUOTE'] They had it at Frys.com after rebate for a Poloraid 16gb but it is out of stock online and at all the stores near where my mother lives. I didn't know about until after out of stock or I would have jumped on this deal. No Frys stores in Thailand. I have other Polaroid cards and they are made by PNY and are good quality. They usually rate higher in speed then indicated on the card.http://www.frys.com/product/5885833?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
Fry's also has a Class 4 for $28 after rebate (it was $20 last week), also out of stock. You'll have to check occasionally.Link - http://www.frys.com/product/5820223

From all the posts, I assume that "micro SDHC" cards work as a replacement for the 1gb internal chip? For myself, I think 8gb is all I will need, but they are mostly SDHC, I think.
You'd be correct pawnslinger...once you are able to get the back cover off of the unit there is a microSD slot on the green PCB that you can swap with no problem. It's highly recommended that you not attempt to swap the internal microSD card unless you want to bypass the warranty. Most people like you are going to be satisfied just installing an SD card and calling it a day.
I didn't realize 16gb cards were about $25. They seemed closer to $50 on newegg this morning when I checked so I bought an 8gb instead (for $20). bummer.

Class number matters. 2 is slooooow. 4 is not fast. 6 is pretty good. I'm told there are 10s (TENS) out there, but that sounds gimmicky to me.
What class is the Micro SD that is in the Novel? I'm assuming it will be a cheap and cheerful class 2.

From the photos it looks like a PQI 1gb. Most 1gb are class 6 now because they are cheap. Someone who has pulled one can tell you exactly what it is. Most 16gb are class 2 but rate much higher when tested. It is hard to find a cheap 16gb with a higher class rating.

Thanks. I have a 2GB class 2 lying in a drawer and a 16GB class 2 which is totally unused in my Blackberry. I was thinking of just using the 16GB and stuffing the 2GB in the Blackberry, but all the talk about class 2 being slow put me off.
I have a 16gb class 2 Polaroid in mine. People as slickdeals have bench tests that make it equal with a Transcend Class VI. One guy used it to record 720p video without pausing, another was reporting 20mb/s write, 6-7mb/s read. Just saying, all class 2's are not slow.

I have a Sandisk 16GB HC card and did a search on speeds. Found the following page which makes interesting readinghttp://www.mobilitysite.com/2009/07/review-sandisk-16gb-microsdhc-card/
