I would like the asus weather, and email widgets and the keyboard on my gtablet. I tried bluetoothing them over and installing them, but that didn't work and I didn't expect it to but I figured "what the hell, might as well try it". So is it possible to port those apps over and how do you do it?

Edit: found this page here.

Tried The email and the weather widget. Neither worked so far.

I have the weather widget working if your still interested. Currently at work right now but when I get home I can get the apk. what I did:
  • Be rooted
  • copy weather apk to /system/app
  • set permissions to be the same as every other apk in the folder
  • click on the apk to install
  • reboot
  • add it like you would any other widget

*I used root explorer.

This will have to be done anytime you update the flashback rom or really any rom since /system/apps normally gets erased.

Probably could be made into an clockwork zip file but not really sure how. Just started digging into custom android stuff.

allow me to simplify minutely...

mount system as RW (root explorer is convenient)
then open terminal emulator or adb shell and type:

su
install pathto/file.apk /system/app

then back to root explorer (or whatever) to mount system back to RO
no need to reboot
done.

weather widget is nice. Thanks for the link
