HI
The tablet has now arrived and it has the full aluminium back. grrrr.

There is no "Ployer" or "Momo 11 speed" branding at all on the shell/case. It's just a plain aluminium back, no branding at all.
In the system menu's it's listed as model : MID. No mention of "Ployer" or "Momo 11 speed" anywhere.
All the technical spec's align with the Momo 11 Speed from what I can find online but I'm worried what I have is some dodgy copy.

I have contacted the seller and as they "promise" it's a Momo 11 speed but they think I could have been sent an unbranded OEM version.
Sorry to say...but you got an OEM tablet....its not the original ployer. The MID is stands for mobile internet device, which is just a generic tablet reference. As for the "promise"...I have been thru that with the online sellers....especially the sellers from China....they always "promise", its their way of gaining your confidence...your best bet is your own skepticism, common sense and these forums. Good luck.

Hi all. I just got my Ployer Momo11 second generation. It's my first tablet and i'm very new with all these.
I originally had one n there were some defects on it. I returned it and got an exchange. but this time I had many unnecessary apps (some chinese ones and some that dont look like apps) built-in in the tablet.
I want to remove them as they are taking up a lot of space.
I read here that the only way I could remove all of those is to go to the Ployer website and get the latest firmware.
However as I follow the instructions I bumped into a problem. Here are some pictures of my tablet for further information about it:

Purple Font Gadget Display device Computer monitor

I'm trying the MOMO11极速_4.1.1_V03_20121207
Pictures below shows the problem im encountered with:

clicked on RkBatchTool as indicated by the instructions.

This appears

and this will appear (the left one is what appears on my screen. the one on the right is whats suppose to appear)

I've tried this on a windows 7 and windows XP. but both had the same problem. I do not really know and truly understand how to go about with all these. Am I doing something wrong? Is there anything else i need to do or download before i proceed? Im really looking forward to being able to have fun with my tablet. Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Looking at the pictures it seems the tablet's USB isn't staying connected to the tool, maybe the button pressing sequence isn't quite right, if so the instructions in this download here might help:

http://en.ployer.cn/downdetail.php?id=38

Also it contains an english version of the Rockchip Batch Tool

But druelf has a VERY good point, unless you have an existing ROM image that's guaranteed to work it can be very risky to start trying other ROMs.

Best to leave it for a few days or tread very carefully, read through this thread and elsewhere, even ask the supplier if they have copy of a ROM that will work with your tablet.

Hi, if I understand you correctly your objective is to remove the pre-installed chinese apps. If that is the case I do not see why you have to update the firmare. I have a Ployer MomoII Speed and was able to remove the chinese apps. However to do so I had to Root the tablet first, check that its actually rooted with Root Checker from the google play store and then install ES File Explorer from the playstore. Es File Explorer allowed me to delete ALL the chinese crapware.

You can check if your tablet is rooted first with Root checker from google play store. If its not and you want to root it...this is the video I used:

Now I am really no expert...and this is my 1st android tablet. Plus I do not know the +es and -es of rooting the tablet. I just wanted access to the build.prop file and separately, I wanted to remove the chinese apps so I am explaining to you how I did it.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Hi All

I'm new to this forum and the wonderful world of Android tablets! After reading reviews on here and elsewhere I decided to purchase the Ployer Momo 11 Speed (all aluminium back).
I ordered it (possibly in error!) from Ebellking. It arrived a couple of days ago, when i turned it on it showed a battery charge of around 42%. This dropped to 15% within minutes and kept dropping rapidly. I assumed this was because it wasnt fully charged etc. So once I got home I put it on charge for a couple of hours. I turned it on to see the charge had only crept up to around 19%. I powered off the tablet and put it back on charge for an hour, after which time it then reported 3% charge?! I left in to charge overnight.
In the morning all looked ok with the battery showing 100% charge, so i started to take a look at the device and install apps - within minutes it dropped to 60% and then down to 15%. It dropped to and held at around 13% before dropping rapidly again and powering off within about half an hour.
My initial thought is the battery is faulty but there are some reports that it could be a firmware issue and/or needs battery calibration.
Contacting Ebellking has not helped - it appears I have to pay to return the tablet to China, more worryingly are all the stories across the net of people who have done the same never to receive replacements etc. it seems EbellKing have a very poor name for themselves.

So what to do? Do I risk £30 and send it back to China or do you think a firmware upgrade/change is worth a try? Anyone know of this particular issue?
I think to use Battery Calibration apps I need to root the device - which may invalidate the guarantee?

Would really appreciate your help/guidance as my first step into the android tablet world hasnt started well !!

Thankyou in advance!!

Hi, I'm going to buy my first tablet and I read very good reviews about ployer models.

I like to read comics, ebooks and to watch videos (mostly tv series on .mkv). So I need a good screen and a decent audio.

It seems that Momo12 has a larger "community"... but I think that for reading a 9,7" screen would be better.

Any advice? Is the audio mono on both models?

Is it possible (with official or custom roms) to extend the storage space in the Ployer tablets?

Thanks so much!

Hi all,
I bought an Oficial Momo11 speed with black stripein October 2012. I wanted a second and accidentally bought a Neutral version MID a few weeks later, all specs were the same. Yeasterday the MID bricked itself. I successfully installed the V1.1_2012_10.10 yesterday and it worked fine using the Rockchip batch tool. I held down the V+ and power buttons to get it to make the gong noise in XP to show it had connected. I then let go of both buttons and did not need to press them ever again during the install. I used intall new hardware to update divers as the automatic option was turned off. I pointed the batch tool at the img file then clicked update and it finished in about 3 minutes.

The original MID firmware did not have the chinese stuff on, but now it does as at's the ployer firmware. I disabled them in settings.

Most surprisingly though, the new install appears to have made the screen much brighter. I compared the two tablets previously and could find no difference (the 'Official' one with the black stripe has the september version of the firmware.) but now the 'official' screen display looks disappointing comnpared to the new flashed MID tablet. The Mid is much brighter and more vivid.

Has anyone else noticed this on going to the 10.10 firmware?

Hi, I'm considering purchasing this tablet, just to confirm, either version of the tablet, black striped or full aluminum, firmware has fixed the wifi?

I've also asked this question over at tabletrepublic, how's the battery life? During Admonish's first impressions, he had the tablet running for 9 hours screen on (don't know brightness/what apps were running), was just wondering if anyone else has run battery tests on this tablet?

Thanks!

These days I'd also be looking at something like a Pipo M9.

I quite like the Momo12 but with the latest Momo 20 what puts me off is there's no bluetooth and the USB connections are under a plastic flap, so not so straightforward to connect a keyboard or mouse.

cheers, Pete.

I'm a long-time lurker, but thought this was worth a post.

Ployer have released a new Momo11 firmware, 20130221.

Obviously there is significant confusion over the various sub-models of the Momo11 tablet due to the variety of cases and screens on products with similar (and sometimes identical) names.

I have what I believe is a Momo11 Bird II (was sold to me as a Speed), the unit with the all-metal back.

The firmware download page says you need a tablet with a serial number of SN:MO11-Ⅱ 16G V02 XXXX XXXXX - mine has no serial number on it.

The 20120221 firmware works fine on my tablet. It adds additional app storage, fixes the issue of poor edge-of-screen calibration (I can close browser tabs now), solves some resolution issues (I run 120dpi and some apps did not scale correctly before - splash screens in particular) and seems more responsive.

Does anyone have any pics or a copy of the Spanish site guide to the wifi fix ?

I have got a Speed with woeful wifi and would like to give the fix a go but the existing links on this thread to the guide go to a website that is "under construction"

Im pretty sure I can open up the Momo but before I dive in it would be good to know what I am going to be looking at.

Thanks in advance

Seem to recall the latest firmware helped wifi a bit, here's a few links regarding the hardware:

Looks like upgrading/moving the antenna and/or improving the antennas 'ground plane'

cheers, Pete.

Thanks Pete - yes from what Ive read I need to unstick the antenna from the screen and move it to the edge of the tablet.

The bit that I am unsure about is whether the antenna can be left loose or needs to be soldered as in the youtube vid.

Regards
