Hello,

can you say where you bought your Speed? and did you get the all aluminum back or the one with the black plastic strip on the back? I have been trying to buy one for a while but can't seem to find one online. How is the screen? Thanks for your help.
Hello ! I bought it in a store of aliexpress, seller name is "Top-Win TESCO". But the Momo11 is out of stock for the moment. I've the version with black plastic strip on the back. The screen is really great ! But on mine, i've a little impact on the lcd with dead pixels, not on the glass, directly on the screen below. But it's not a problem, there is something like 4 or 5 dead pixels located on the edge of the screen, not visible when i use it.

Hi, sorryI didn't see your aerosols. Yes it is the one with the black plastic strip. I got it about tweet weeks ago. It had jelly bean on it when it came. The new ROM is "cleaner", there are no Chinese apps on it and it seems to bea bit smoother. Jelly bean is definitely worth going for over ics, in my experience anyway. Google invested quite a bit off effort in making it smoother.

I'm extremely happy with the tablet. For £140 i'd struggle to justify spending more on a tablet irrespective of brand. That is from someone who has one of the best Samsung tablets (7.7).
Hi again...thanks for your info...just got my speed a couple of hours ago and had a quick check before the wife wraps it up for Christmas!! It seems way faster than my momo bird and jelly bean does seem smoother. Will have to wait now to get some apps on it and give it a full check over. Meanwhile happy Christmas to all and happy MoMo'ing !!

Hello everyone, this is my first post.

I need some help...
I tried to upgrade the original firmware (4.0.4) in my Momo 11 Speed with the new MOMO11极速_4.1.1_V01_20121206
I read a post before with a "clean way" of update firmware througth an sd card and I tried to do this way.
But nothing happens when I insert the sd card in the tablet with update.img file, no message pops up... I need to install one special app before insert the card?
Did I miss something? Any help will be welcome...
Thanks in advance (and sorry if my english is not good)

Have you tried using the official Ployer update tool and their latest ROM?

Go to THIS LINK using Google Chrome and translate the page, then look for the appropriate Firmware (check you SN serial number - V03 XXXX 1XXXXX, V02 XXXX 1XXXXX, or V01 XXXX 1XXXXX) download it.

Then go to THIS LINK , it is in English, and download the "Firmware Tool for Rockchip Tablets - RKBatchTool" and "Firmware Update Tool & Instruction".

Read the instructions and install the Firmware.

hello guy, i am new on this forum.

i have same problem :
If i can advise, check you have REAL momo11speed.
I have no serial, speak are on the same side, and on motherboard is write XZH

My problem, i had buy a ployer momo 11 speed tablet.
In fact, finally, i think i have an oem version, not real ployer but same caracteristic.

My settings device is :
Model number : MID
4.1.1
Kernel 3.0.8+
Root#32
SMP PREEMPT mon sep 10 11:30:57 CST 2012
Build. MID_v 1.1
V1.1-eng 4.1.1 JRO03H eng.root 201220826.162215 test-keys

I try to change F/W with rockchip batch tool.
Finally my tablet is semi brick, blank screen with a lot of line
I can always put in recovery mode and detected with rockchip.
I try officiel F/W with not sucess.
Do you have an idea to restore this tablet?
I don't find this version V1.1-eng 4.1.1 JRO03H eng.root 201220826.162215 test-keys
I know people who have same version, i think ask them to backup their nand and use it. but it's possible to backup without CWM?
I don't want ask them to try to install cwm on this oem version. I don't want crash their tablet.

thank for help.

Tom, Does your tablet have the Momo logo on the back? Exactly what build did you flash it with?

If it IS an OEM with no logo, maybe ask the supplier if they can supply a copy of the original firmware.

If it's NOT an OEM, the build you listed sounds similar to the one mentioned here in post #105 on page 6 of this thread:

http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/37853-ployer-momo11-speed/page__view__findpost__p__451314

Wonder what happened with Hillscrimer's Momo11 as that had a similar sounding problem?

Hi

Quick update: I sent mine back to the supplier and they replaced it. I asked them why it happened and they couldn't give me an answer. I asked what would happen if I tried to update the firmware with the official firmware on the Ployer website and the told me not to because the same thing might happen
(which is worrying really because one of the best features of this tablet is firmware updates).

Having said this, I'll probably be attempting to update the official firmware at some point after Christmas/New Year.

Looking back I'm wondering whether or not the serial number had anything to do with it. I didn't check what my serial number was so therefore I might have downloaded the wrong firmware. For future reference, where do I find my serial number?

Tom - not a pro at this but if your model number is MID then something sounds a bit fishy, and quite possibly it's an OEM. Usually it should say Momo11 Speed......... but like I said, I'm not a pro at this so I could be wrong.

I have the Momo11 II model so don't have a black stripe, just an all aluminium back. I've looked on the back but there's nothing that resembles a serial number. Maybe I just need to look harder so I'll have another look when I get home tonight.

Spent a little time last night looking at the ROM backup thing, looks like there's a couple of ways of backing up a stock ROM without needing a CWM recovery installed.

It can be done over USB using ADB, or using a rooted tablet and 'android terminal emulator'. One way is using the 'romdump' utility to dump some of the partitions of the NAND flash, another way (better IMHO) is listing and copying the partitions with terminal commmands. More info in these links:

http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-backup-your-android-phones-boot-recovery-and-system-partition-images/
http://android.podtwo.com/romdump/
http://vondroid.com/threads/updated-27-08-2012-how-to-dump-current-rom.322/

I would much prefer the second method after a backup and factory reset, then get ALL the partitions PLUS a copy of the mtd layout, though in theory only the layout and partitions misc, recovery, kernel, boot, and system should be needed. Also would be good to do it over ADB AND terminal, and compare the IMG files to check they're not corrupted.

Once the IMG file are safely copied and checked, there needs to be a way of flashing them back to the tablet, there seems to be at least a couple of ways; one way would be to pack them back into a big IMG file like the stock ROMs use and flashing it back with the firmware tool downloadable from the Ployer english download page.

Another way would be to flash them individually with the RK Android Batch tool which can be found with the Ployer Base files available in the Momo11 section of flashmyandroid forum.

BUT to flash them back either tool needs to know the layout of the partitions, the RK Android Batch tool uses a config.cfg file which is editable somehow though I don't know yet how. Someone with experience of making custom ROMS should be able to help here.

So it would be good practice to dump the ROM before flashing any new tablet, and if this isn't done and there are problems to find someone with the same tablet who can do a ROM dump, hope this helps Hillscrimer and Tom.

Thanks for that. Hopefully that should ease some of my worries next time I try to flashing (prob be a while yet though!)

Can someone tell me where I can find the serial number on the all aluminium backed version. I've checked all over and can't find anything. Is it stored in the software somewhere? I'm tempted to try and update official firmware but need to know my serial number first.

There's no serial on my Momo11 Second Edition either, seems to only be on the Speed. Mine works OK with the latest Speed V01 build, but I wouldn't by any means guarantee that build works on all Second Editions.

Found out that on the RK Android Tool the partition layouts are determined by the parameter file, and it's a plain text editable file.

Sometime over the christmas break I'd like to try copying the ROM partitions off the tablet with stock ROM, then flashing them back using the RK Android Tool and a suitable parameter file.

Also could be useful to unpack the V01 and V03 stock ROMs and see where the differences are, might just be a display driver or something like that.

@ Hillscrimer : difficult to know without serial number.
I had same pb. No serial.

I receive my tablet with this Firmware :
noyau : 3.0.8+ root32 smp preempt 10 sept 2012
build : xzh970_1.1 v1.0-eng 4.1.1 JR003H eng.root.20120818.154714 test-keys.

Try to downgrade to ICS 4.0.4.
downgrade succes but tablet dead : blank screen at boot with a lot of lines.

Crash, but i can always access to recovery mod and use rock chip batch tool.

Try this : MOMO11 Speed 4.1.1 For V01 NOT work same pb
After : MOMO11 Speed 4.1.1 For V03 WORK

And today update with MOMO11 4.1.1 V03 20121207 again V03 and work.

I'm not sure, but i think you can try like me different F/W to find version you have.
And if crash, go recovery and try different F/W with rock chip batch tool.

I have upload different F/W here :

HI
First post here after a lot of reading.

I have just received my tablet which I ordered as a Ployer Momo 11 speed. I was specific in finding a model with the plastic strip on the back.

The tablet has now arrived and it has the full aluminium back. grrrr.

There is no "Ployer" or "Momo 11 speed" branding at all on the shell/case. It's just a plain aluminium back, no branding at all.
In the system menu's it's listed as model : MID. No mention of "Ployer" or "Momo 11 speed" anywhere.
All the technical spec's align with the Momo 11 Speed from what I can find online but I'm worried what I have is some dodgy copy.

I have contacted the seller and as they "promise" it's a Momo 11 speed but they think I could have been sent an unbranded OEM version.

Is this even possible ?? I just don't trust the seller to tell me legit information.
Some apps will not load, I'm concerned due to the missing model number or make in the system that google play is not identifying what tablet I have.

Should I return the tablet and request a proper branded Ployer Momo 11 Speed or stick with the OEM model (If that's even a valid response/model type)

Ahh I hate a dodgy online deal.

Personally I'd get rid bud, why settle for what is quite probably an imitation when the real thing is obtainable.

Also, I have an all aluminium backed one (bought from didobuy) and it seems all the problems that popped up originally (mainly wifi issues) have been solved so its not that important to get the black strip version.
