PhotoBrowser kills my photos

Maybe someone here has same issues with the built in PhotoBrowser: when using a task killer, PhotoBrowser seems to delete a massive amount of my pictures on the sd-card.Can anyone suggest a decent picture viewer, like IrfanView for pc?PiQture runs quite smooth here, but doesn't have a back button, so its quite useless
