anyone get their online orders cancelled? i just got email notification now from an order on the 9thWe're sorry, but we've modified Order Number XXXXXXXX for the following reason(s): XXXXXXX.Product Availability
Just make a printout of the scan of my raincheck and take it up to Kohl's....let them know that you want the raincheck to reflect the price of 159.99 since they won't be back in stock during the 15 dollar rebate advertised, and that you want the 30% off of it as well. All I had was a yellow sticky note that says "30% off - SAVEINJUNE" and that was acceptable.Scan is in the Kohl's CS and the BLACK novel thread.
[quote name='jamesd1343;7979]thanks' date=' i did follow with cust service online and they indicated they would honor the price also by sending them your old online receipt.[/QUOTE'] Honor the sale price + 30% off + $15 lost for rebate window?
That's correct, but Pandigital CS has also let everybody know that the cutoff on the rebate has been extended to approximately 7-10 days after the Novel is re-released in Kohl's stores. You can use the same $15 rebate form and send it later than the date says on the sheet and they will still honor it.
I will also have three tablets...definitely worth the money though. JC Penney's website says they expect the next batch of PDNs to ship out on the 23rd which is 9 days away, so expect to receive a phone call from Kohl's around the same time saying they're restocked again.
I picked up a raincheck for the sale price with the 30% off coupon. The store manager said he got an email about the Novel this afternoon and that he was:1. expecting Pandigital to honor their rebate longer2. getting replacement units early part of next week. We'll see...

I find the apad waaaay faster and easier to use, but hardware is a lot cheaper quality, which I'm sure is why mine has stopped working on battery. However, that being said, I prefer using the apad plugged in vs. using the Novel on battery with its crappy software. If the Novel performed like the apad it would be KILLER, but as it is right now its just frustrating to use for anything but reading books, and even that is slow. I sure hope they fix the software and then some folks get it rooted so we can have plain old Android instead of their crappy GUI. If not I'm going to return mine. Or, if anyone has a rockchip apad they want to trade for a Novel I'd be willing.
I can't bring myself to pay $150-200 dollars for an aPad just because the build quality of the devices have already shown to be complete rubbish compared to anything built in the USA or Japan...even if the Novel is a slow and crappier device than the aPad at least I know if it ever dies I can just take it back to the store and swap it out or get my money back. Heads up though...my local Kohl's says the new "black" Novels are on their way to the Kohls stores across the nation as we speak and could arrive at the stores as early as tomorrow.
