Hello Folks,

I modified the original new Firmware 3.2 for the Onda V973 (Hardware Version 1) with the following mods:

- root with latest SuperSU 1.34 (free version)
- system default setup English
- removed most Chinese and unnecessary applications
- updated busybox v1.21.0.git (2012-11-29)
- Unix like init.d boot scripts support
- changed permissions on external sdcard to allow write access

I have done the mods based on a work from Arctablet.com. All greetings got to there.

Arctablet Link to Onda V973 (Hardware Version 2) modded firmware

Here is the Link: V973Core4_v3.2_v1_modified.rar (263.9 MB)

Be careful! Flashing this firmware repartition and formats all partitions including the internal sd-card! Save your files before flashing!

Have fun!

Edit: The flashing process and the first boot takes much time. Have patience!

Hi,

Just installed original v3.2 v1 using Phoenix and now want to install your modified firmware and thought just to copy zip to sd card, open the update app, select Local update and select the zip with your firmware, but seems not to work!

Can you send me instruction how to install your firmware?

Thanks,
TJ-Venlo

Hi, this is pretty easy: You have to flash it like a normal original ROM through PhoenixSuit and not as an update-zip.
Follow this manual and your are right to go: PhoenixSuit flashing tutorial
