But at the end of the download you get "Package download finish, but it can not pass the verify ..."No, no, elite is still supported: choose 1.2, open OTA and chose local update , choose in the list v1.4 rc3 , now you have ics 4.0.4 with full market![]()

Update your rom to 1.2 afterSomeone tried with the Elite version?
If yes please let me know how you update the tablet.
If i understand, we could update to 1.2rc2 then choose OTA update.
Should we put the 1.4 to the SD card or The OTA mode will download the 1.4 from Onda server?
Thanks
Exactly the same symptoms here:mine downloaded got the failure message as well tried your locale update and got the dead droid screen reset my tablet thank good it did not brick it and no up date was made please be careful when updating
I have successfully flashed the update on the VI40 Elite V3. First I tried the online update a couple of times and had the verification error. I then did the local update and the upgrade completed. I checked the file size of the ota.zip and it should be 110.61Mb.Exactly the same symptoms here:
Did the OTA download - downloaded the whole file, then it reported "can not verify". Tried three times, same (non)result each time.
Tried the local update, and at the bottom of the list was "ota.zip" - selected this, and it went through the motions of verifying the package, and started the install. When it rebooted, I got a "Dead Android" icon - not a good sign!
Did a manual re-boot, and it went back to where I was before (Android 4.0.3 Baseband Version 1.2rcOTA), so no damage done - phew!
Can anyone confirm whether they have successfully done an update of the Vi40 Elite using either method? I'm happy to wait a week or two for an official Onda "fix" before I take the plunge with flashing to CM9.
Hmmmm ... not sure what is going on. The file that was downloaded by the OTA Updater is "ota.zip" in folder "/sdcard/". The file is 111.25 MB (116,651,905 bytes), and seems to be a valid zip file, but I get the "Dead Android" if I try to install this patch file.I have successfully flashed the update on the VI40 Elite V3. Can you upload this file to mediafire or similar so we can also try the upgrade? Thank youI have successfully flashed the update on the VI40 Elite V3. yes i know that CM9 is great because im also using it. but im having problems with CM9 on game compatibility that is why im still hopeful that ONDA will be able to develop a firmware that runs fast like CM9 plus that compatibility the way it shouldIt really doesn't matter.
Elite is already well supported by CyanogenMod 9 thanks to the amazing work done by Christian Troy.
And the Elite running CM9 is so much better than the Onda ROM that it is hard to believe it is the same hardware.
It happened to me exactly the same!I thought that after reboot nothing changes, but now I clearly remember the "dead android" icon before the automatic reboot!Hmmmm ... not sure what is going on. When I try to download the update file direct from http://www.onda-tablet.com/download/, the link for the Onda Vi40 Elite is http://file2.mydrivers.com/ondata/download/driver/oamp3/Vi40/Vi40_V3_v0.8.rar, but this link gives me a 404 error (in Chinese).
Am I doing anything different to you?
Thanks!

What's the performance like compared to CM9?I have uploaded the file to http://www28.zippyshare.com/v/83127275/file.html
I installed RC3 directly after a format install of RC2.
I did have CM9 previously, and the games that did not work on CM9 (Asphalt 6, Shadowgun and Samurai II) now work on RC3.
Thanks for that - downloaded from your link, and yes, it is a different file - this time, "ota.zip" reports that it is 110.61 MB, but when I point the "Local Update" at this downloaded file - same problem, "Dead Android", and after forcing a reboot, I am back with the previous version again.I have uploaded the file to http://www28.zippyshare.com/v/83127275/file.html
