I just received my Rockchip version. How do I tell if it has been upgraded? It boots and shows the penguin picture in the left top of screen before the 2 other android text boot screens. Can you Tell by checking the kernal version? Also is the USB socket a standard mini USB? I didn't come with the adapter cable.
New Apad check for firmware update ?

Boot it up, then go to 'settings' - 'About Phone'. Take a look at 'Android Version', 'Kernel Version' and 'Build Number'. Do not flash anything yet, some newer models need different firmware etc. From my observation the '20100612' is the latest, but this is probably the 'BlueLed' version. http://www.slatedroid.com/vbulletin...O-NOT-Flash-ROMs&p=15391&viewfull=1#post15391

Typically this is pretty straight forward with other products, but with knock offs of knock offss it can be scary. Take the risk if you like. Mostly if you have a working firmware to flash back on my understanding is you are pretty safe. That being said I don't have an apad yet, it is shipping!
