I have a serious problem where I am unable to flash my onda tablet with the firmware I downloaded from Onda's website. I know how to do it.. I have been able to flash my onda device with mutiple Ainol Advanced 7 Firmware no problem. (However, the screens are different, so I have been unable to use the device.)

The problem isn't because I'm trying to flash onda firmware on a device that has ainol firmware. I have two of these tablets and the one that still has onda firmware is unable to update either. (I immediately get a yellow warning sign when I plug in the device while using livesuit)

This leads me to believe that the problem is with the the download itself. It is incredibly slow. It took me about half a day to download each different version of which none work. (A lot of time for things to go wrong)

I believe the only solution is for a different download.. If someone could upload a link I would be eternally grateful.

Also, is there a way to find the firmware image on a tablet or make a backup of it? If that's possible I can just get the firmware from my tablet that still has a onda version. Once again, help is much appreciated.

The above links work.. It just that they still dont work with my tablet. The firmware wont flash. I rooted my device with a script found on the ainol advanced forum and I think that might be where my problems come from.. There's not much I can do about it. I'm just downloading different firmwares for allwinner a10 tablets and hoping one has the same drivers..

Ah OK I see what you mean, I used lordsbm script to 4.0.1 but the whole tablet now just force closes on everything I try to do? I was hoping that flashing the firmware will solve the issue. Trouble I have is I'm brand new to all this. Do you know if it's possible to remove the script I added ie to take it back to how it was, it wasn't great but at least it was more useable than it is now.

Thanks

Yea, your problem can be solved easy if you have the know how. Im assuming you have an ainol tablet.. Go on topnotchtablets and install a different firmware. 2.0v3 is the best one for non ice cream sandwich. There is instructions and everything.. The website is very user friendly. If it's games you are talking about.. You can make them compatible by changing the build prop.

Update on my problem: I solved it after 3-4 hours of litterally trying everything possible. I got very, very lucky.. For some bizarre reason, firmware that is labeled in chinese characters doesn't work with livesuit. All I had to do along was change the name to english.

Yea, I know what you mean about problems.. Normally they are nothing though.. Its just a silly mistake or confusion.

I may be wrong, but I think your mistake is that you simply keep going back to the non extracted file.. Seeing that nothing has changed.

Next time you extract them make sure you put them in a location that you can easily find and you wont have an issues confusing with the nonextracted version.

I think the simplest way to do it to avoid any confusion is to:

1. Find the unextracted file. Should look like a pile of three books with a belt around them. With the name of the download.

2. Right click on it and choose make sure you choose "extract files..."

3. A window will pop up on where you want to send them.

4. Create a new folder in a location you know will be easy to find and name it "Firmware such and such"

5. After it's extracted.. Go find that folder you created and it will be there.

I'm hoping that its that simple.
