I've had no problem updating an ainol advanced, because there are easy to follow directions online, but I cant seem to manage to update the firmware on the Onda vx610w.

My issue occurs when you come to the point on livesuit where you are suppose to press down on a key while you push down on the power button several times. I feel like Ive tried everything. Ive pressed down on the home key and then connect my tablet to laptop then push down on power 10 times, but it doesnt work. Ive tried the same with the menu and the escape button. Ive even tried simply pushing down home key and these keys at the same time.

Whenever I connect my tablet.. I hear it connect to the laptop before within a second before Im able to do anything. Then a yellow exclamation pop up appears.

Help would be much appreciated. This is really frustrating.

Update: I found a guide online that said it was necessary to turn it off, unplug it. Then push down the menu button and reconnect it.. It still doesn't work I only get a yellow exclamation pop up. What am I doing wrong?

I just caught a break.. I figured out that the firmware download itself was faulty.. It wasnt working. A different version worked.. Odd though, because they are all form ondas website.
Hey I was wondering if you could help me.

I have followed all the instruction to update my Device. I've passed all the steps, even passed the whole "press Menu" step. As the update finishes, My device is stuck at the USB screen. I do not know what it says, but i could not press anything. and when the screen is touched, it threw me back to this screen with a red target icon and writings i could not understand. Please help, my device is render useless and i have tried the restore/update/reset process multiple times. Any help or advice will be appreciated. Computer Output device Tablet computer Gadget Font

Did the problem happen after you updated your device? During the update process there is no reason to see any screen at all. The device is shut off through the entire process. When it says connect your tablet, it means just connect the usb cord to the computer.. It doesn't mean to turn on your tablet and enable the usb connection (Is that why the screen is on that page.. Did you go to that page while updating?)

Shit. I'm still having issues. I can't figure this one out.I still get the yellow warning symbol everytime I try to flash onda firmware. However when I flash ainol novo 7 advanced firmware it works flawlessly, but the screen doesnt work. Why wont the firmware work with my device?

This is so strange. I have two onda vx610w deluxe tablets. One I downloaded ainol advanced firmware to see if it would work, which it did, but the screen didn't work. Now its stuck like that, because the onda updates that I downloaded (v2.0.5 and the ice cream sandwich version) wont update because of that damn yellow warning sign.

The tablet I didn't put ainol firmware doesnt work with the onda updates either.. I updated the correct version and did everything right.

Bro, u can never flash a different model's fimware to Onda's tabs. It will cause ur tab to brick... should always stick to their own firmwares... it worked for me... cheers!!!

Hi, make sure u are at the right firmware... and make sure u DO NOT DISCONNECT your tablet at all and DO NOT attempt to restart ur tab on ur own... ur tab will rebooot automatically... when u passed all steps, u WILL get the USB screen, this time that droid with the USB arm will be at green colour... right bottom corner will be a box with chinese and USB words. click that box and u should be able to use ur tab...

Hi,

Just to throw my 2p in here. I've just got a VX610W and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. I had loads of issues getting the firmware from Onda but it seems to be a lot easier to download in the evening (UK time) and I've successfully got the 2.0.5 and 4.0.5 firmware builds onto my tablet.

The livesuite software is a bit flakey - a few times I though nothing was happing and it turns out it was sitting in the taskbar so once you'd clicked the icon it was up and running. I always get a blank message box with a yellow exclamation mark after a successful update.

I downgraded mine from 4 back to 2.3.4 as I couldn't get the market working properly

Mine seems to have developed a fault now - the wireless constantly switches off and on. Its not my wireless as I've tried 2 seperate routers and 2 laptops and the wireless is fine. It just seems to randomly switch itself off - showing Turning off, and Turning On in the status all the time. Every so often it will stabilise and be ok for a while (anything from 1 min to an hour!) so I guess I now have faulty hardware!

Shame as its a cracking tablet for the money.

I managed to get the free wifi lock (cheers for the info!) but my wifi still switches itself off even with the Wifi lock running!

It seems to cycle between Turning On. Connecting,Connected and then Turning Off. The time bewteen on and off varies a lot. Sometimes its constant switching other times theres a few minutes between it.

I've tried 2 routers so I doubt its that. I also tested sitting right next to the router so signal strength isn't an issue!

Is there a way to disconnect the battery in these to fully 'reset' them?

I've flashed from version 1.8 to 4.0.5 and all the ones in between! Even in 4.0.5 the wireless switches off! I've put it back to the latest 2.0.5 (Android 2.3.4) that it came with orignally.

I would like to try a full reset - but I guess unless the battery is removed or disconnected it will always be a 'warm' boot

Yes, tried the reset button, and powered on and off, and left it until its gone completely flat (so it turns off as soon as you turn it on)

I guess its just faulty. Odd thing is though, the day it arrived I used it for ages and the wireless remained rock solid. After its first full charge it started playing up. I find it odd that it will connect - and work properly, but it just switches itself off. So the wireless card must actually work - so what makes it switch itself off!
