as far as I know, there is no any Apad based on firmware version 2.1, but It shipped with 2.1...I bought 3pcs Apad from chinese seller and there are two Apads are based on 2.1 and the other one is based on 1.5. It's strange..I assume that my two Apads which are based on 2.1 is alternative batch 3 version. I can see the red light when it charges but the output voltage of adapter I received is 9V. the other one indicates blue light.Anyone has an idea that how to get this version 2.1 firmware from the web or just extract it from the Apad via USB connection?

This is realy interesting.considering that it obvoisly is not a Telechips aPad...looking at the Kernel version i would say that the 'firmware version' is faked because android 2.1 uses kernel 2.6.32still could you try to install a 'life wallpaper' and the 'kindle ebook reader'? =)

I disassembled it and checked it out.I could see some IC near the RK2808A named as ISSI and motherboard layout is exactly same as the picture below. However' date=' only PCB layout is identical with the picture. It shipped as alloy case and iRobot logo is engraved at the back.I'm confusing that this is a real apad or fake version....... I'm curious that is it possible to cheat firmware version??as you said, firmware version 2.1 must be with kernel version 2.6.29.... miracle...

I have received one of these 2.1 Firmware APAD's as well. The info screen gives identical specs as the one listed here. Does anyone know if it is possible to load alternate Firmware to this APad?

[url']http://www.slatedroid.com/hsg-x5a-x6-pandawill-g11/8286-bluetooth-support.html[/url]also had a look at a few roms and came up with http://www.slatedroid.com/android-tablet-os-discussion/8356-android-2-2-confusion.html#post68044also when checking on net http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_(operating_system) says Froyo 2.2 is based on 2.6.32 which checks with A81E (in hand) if anyoone comes up with a definitive list can you post it pleaselooking at smartcodes picture (first post) i'd hazard a guess it has been changed by the method asure mentions

Justpictures in the market is supposed to use the live wallpaper function to do slideshows. you could try that.there also is a version here at slatedroid JustPictures - Downloads - SlateDroid - The BIGGEST Android Tablet Forum on the Web!
I know that my Apad (shipped with this firmware) is a faked 2.1 firmware. It cannot see 2.1 or 2.2 apps in the market. It also cannot install these apps if I try to load them from my SD card (Kindle, ADW, XScope, etc...).Can anyone suggest if there is an alternate firmware to put on this Apad (Red charging light, 9V, IRobot logo on back, aluminum housing)? Thanks

By tweaking the build.prop (I think - Don't remember exactly) of my 1.5 tablet, I was actually able to see, download and install Kindle. So it's very easy to fake Android version. (before someone asks - Yes, I was able to start Kindle and log on to Amazon, but as soon as the app tried to display the cover gfx, it crashed, as that method used some API not present in Android 1.5)
