I've got some trouble with a MID 7" WM8650 tablet, it would appear to be a Chinese version, and things like android market doesnt work...

I'm thinking of flashing the ROM and installing a new version of android etc....

Currently have:

WonderMedia WM8650
Android: 2.2
Kernel: 2.6.32.9-default
Build: generic-eng2.2 Froyo Ver1.5.5-20110920.093830

It has a webcam on the front - 2GB Flash Ram

Is is a green LED version without 3G built in

Its this one:

I cannot confirm the right name etc, so im struggling to find the right rom to use... Any ideas?

I have the same tablet, I installed Modroid rom, but i had to replace the file as described in the modroid post to get the touchpad working.

I'm thinking of rooting it and update to a new version. I would like to enable ad hoc wifi and understand I need to root it first.

Hi

Im new here i am having issue with MID irobot or android v1.6 with blue led when on and red when turn off not sure the whole specs.. it only load until the android icon then blank.. tried to update it but it still hangs up..

can someone help me provide the correct frimware.. I will really appreciate your help

This looks like my tablet. Mine is a Maylong M250. I've used the ROM flash at this site:

I think you have to register first at http://www.techknow.t0xic.nl/forum/index.php to be able to download the flash.

I've been trying to update my version 6 ROM to the new version 11 beta ROM and you may have to be patient in finding the option that works for your tablet. For the new version 11 beta you may have to use option 1, 8, 9, 30, or 33. I presently trying option 30. The list will show option 8 as the option for the Maylong M250. But when I tried it I had no touchscreen operation. I have used option 1 and the touchscreen works, but the wireless won't detect my router. So, I'm at trying option 30. Good luck.

I had the same problem with my tablet and i was told every ting from rooting to wiping.
I found this fix on another forum and when i did this i was able to use the android market.

Open Settings.
Select Applications.
Select Manage Applications.
Select Market.
Select Clear cache.
Press the back button (takes you back to list of installed applications)
Select Download Manager.
Select Clear data.
You should now be able to download successfully from the Market
Make sure that you clear cache only and not data under the manage applications..
