return it or try open it and check the ribbon..try to insert back the ribbon properly..you can check out how to open the metal apad from Apad iRobot M Disassembly ? HiApad
Metal back apad problems...please help.
I just received one from Mp4nation and it turns on with a white lcd screen. Nothing else happens. I can hear it boot, just white screen....wth! Anyone know what is wrong?

Well, I can't leave anything alone so I took it apart and it was the ribbon cable loose. Probably should have just sent it back, but I can't help tinkering...lol
With the metal back unit they can't tell you opened it anyway.
darkstar, I did the same thing, with the knowledge that it would void the warranty. Luckily I was able to reconnect mine also and it has been working like a champ over the course of the last week.
