I just thought I'd post an update just in case anyone has been following this thread and to encourage anyone who has been on the fence about taking on the market fix (inclusive of the AndroidID generation step) to DO IT!!!I finally bit the bullet and generated my AndroidId-- I followed all the steps (including the tangential directions on how to get the ADB and AndroidSDK rocking) found at augendev.wikispaces.com, all the way up to step 29 (at which point the rest of the directions are no longer necessary thanks to linckraker and his v3 update) exactly as described in the market fix... I did the part where I generated and inserted the resulting AndroidId into my Augen, and now I have a (hopefully permanently) working market...For anyone contemplating weather or not to perform the market fix because it looks too difficult-- I say, DO IT! It's not that hard, but it will take you a while... (Mind you, I'm primarily a mac user and a competent operator of computers, but I am by no means a programmer... This is doable! Go for it!)The instructions are at times a little to vague for the faint of heart, but once you get the extraordinarily slow downloads done, the process is actually pretty simple-- you can logic your way through them... Read ahead to understand what you're doing in context, it'll come together for you. That said-- Two quick words of warning:1. Make sure your USB Debugging is ON-- mine wasn't ON and as such, I was spinning my wheels for a good long while until I figured out there was a problem... To check on that-- on your Gentouch, go into your settings, then go to Applications, and then check that the debugging option is ON in the DEVELOPMENT sub-menu... If USB Debugging is not on, all those "ADB" steps aren't going to work. 2. When you're typing in those shell commands-- there are a lot of spaces between commands (adb etc) and their targets (/sdcard etc) that aren't obvious. Just be aware-- if it looks like the instructions say that you should type in, "command /target" be careful not to miss the space-- the font on the site can make it hard to see.So guys-- thanks to all the real brains who are making this thing go... I was really close to buying an iPad a week ago-- now I'm really glad I didn't, my Augen is doing so well! Thank you all so much!
