Thought I'd post this incase anybody else wants to make something similar.

Cut the card to shape, use the soldering iron to soften the plastic (hold it a couple of millimeters away, don't let it touch the iron or it'll stink), and then mould the card over the device. Cut and glue some more bits to it, and you should end up with something like this.
